Arrogant and Disgraceful. by Isochronous
This museum conspired to ignore the clearly stated wishes of the late and much-respected Sir Edmund Hilary over his effects and claim exclusive ownership. Sir Edmund and his friend Tenzing Norgay were the first men to scale Mt Everest.
The same imperialistic arrogance that claimed this museum's treaures in the first place seems to be alive and well.

For a $5 donation the Auckland Museum offers three floors of displays and exhibitions including some of the world's finest collections of Maori and Pacific art, and you get to enjoy the singing and dancing of the Manaia cultural performance if you have $15 spare.
