This is a World Heritage protected site and the home of the old medieval quarter. The streets are full of long timber buildings that are home to museums, restaurants and shops and are easily explored on foot. Take a look at the alleys that run alongside the back of the restored buildings and you will see the stacked stone foundations and rough plank constructions of centuries past.
