Vinothek Wine and Beer house has opened its doors at 241 Crown St Darlinghurst, offering German and international cuisine and an exclusive, award winning German wine and beer selection not seen before in Australia. Vinothek is only steps from busy Oxford Street but a world apart in pace and culture. Vinothek is a new modern German Wine and Beer house combining traditional dishes from Germany and modern international cuisine with an extensive, complimenting wine and beer selection. “Our aim is to capture particular European traditions and tastes and bring it to Australia,” said co-owner Peter Lange. “All our wines are sourced from generations old family owned wineries in the best German wine growing regions and the standard of beer offered here, has not been seen in Australia.” All beers are gold medal winning hand-crafted Bavarian beers, brewed since 1636 from the private castle brewery of a German Prince. Only recently opened, Vinothek’s feature book wall is fast becoming a popular talking point and provides the background for a spacious modern interior, accented with warm earth tones and dimmed lighting. Business operating hours are from Mondays to Thursdays from 4p.m. until midnight and on Fridays and weekends from 11a.m. for lunch until midnight. Both food and drink are value for money, with dishes starting at $9 and house wines available at half price during weekday Happy Hours between 6p.m. and 7p.m. About Vinothek function facilities Vinothek caters for all types of functions and can be booked out for private functions of up to 120 guests. Vinothek's separate function area is designed for 26 seated dining guests or for entertaining up to 34 guests for wine tasting. External catering is available for functions up to approximately 500 people.
