I lived near Munich for a couples year and went to the here many times. It's a chunk of history. You should go just to go. Hitler lead his failed "Beer Hall Putsch" from the Hofbrau Haus. I've had great times there with friends, met lot's of folks from other countries and partied with all of 'em. I even got dragged out by my neck by one psychotic arian bouncer ( I attemped to steal a Mass glass= not wise)

The Hofbrauhaus is definitely a must see in Munich. There are other branches around the world but this is the "mother" branch as the Germans say. The Weissbier is great and also doesn't give you a hangover as it is made of only natural ingredients. The food is excellent and I highly recommend the weisswurst as a snack. There is live traditional Bavarian music every day and there are waiters for every table, even though the pub is massive and you never have to wait too long for your beer or food. Also the toilets are really clean!
An awesome atmosphere to enjoy a LITER of beer, and sing along to some famous tunes. A Truly unique experience! You're a True Champ if you can sneak out with one of those large and in charge beer mugs!
