I have been to the old Man a few times alone.with other males and with a female at all times I have enjoyed the atmosphere and the groups the food is exeptional and you can eat untill 04.30, yes there are working girls but they dont hassle you.
Go and enjoy and dont abuse the alcohol because getting slaughtered is not cool and the hangover is never worth the price.
I have been an ex-pat for the last 5 years and for the last year in Budapest. (previously Romania) I have found Budpast people to be most unfriendly and make no attempt to accomodate foreigners like me who have left our countries to help bring business into the city. This pub is no exception but better than some. But it is full of girls.. either Hungarian girls who don't like 'non Hungarians' or prostitutes who obviously want our money.. so don't trust the friendly ones.
This place is packed to the max with people!!! But if you dun mind cheesy music and an extremely smoke filled area, must try this out!
i lived in budapest for 5 months and went to old man's about once a week...i doubt its owned by serbians, its too nice of a place and too western looking. as far as the live music, its awesome..the bartenders are hot as hell and are in sexy outfits in the cover of the menu. it gets REALLY crowded, but is worth it if youre ready to party. as far as fights, i never saw one. the bouncers are huge and theres like six of them, but they just stand around. once i broke a mug right on the ground in front of them and they hardly looked at me. the drinks take a while to get...so learn a little hungarian and youll get the respect of some hot bartenders, and your drink faster...phonetically, its "kirak sepin egy shur" to ask for a beer
Serbian mafia owned place that will not admit anyone with dark skin. Prone to fights breaking out due to pigs grabbing other guys' girls. Bouncers like to break heads as well (literally) to break upfights. I did mention Serbians?
Good pub - but very busy - takes 10mins to get a drink.....Worth trying though and loads of totty!!!
This is a bit of a pick up joint for lads with money and girls who want some. Didnt see any live music but lots of cheesey dance music....
