Great bar by Tyrone lad
Gud spot to go if you want to listen to a few rebels before going on to the nite club....gud atmosphere also during old firm games. Good republican bar....p.s if u aren't republican minded or dont want to learn about your history just dont go in!!! Up Tyrone
folks my names darren and iv been working in the wolfetone nearly 3 years now were not getting the crowds we used to get so if your planning a weekend to Letterkenny then make sure and call down and see us!!!!

Loved this bar. Good Music and the Bands were fabulous. Pity I had not found this bar first. Not over-run with Hens or Stags like the bars a bit up.
this was the highlight of my trip, ya would never get as much as an irish pub then this, bar staff so friendly , an music just fuckin brill, i nearly turned into an alcoholic cause i never wanted to leave it:) loved it, well done to all of ye runnin it!
Cracking pub and by far the best in Letterkenny, reasonable prices and some good live bands. I'll be visiting again next year.
Been there last weekend, good atmosphere and the sports coverage was first class.... better again they had Drinks reduced until St Pats day to €3
Nice Bar, good bands but great pint in the afternoon. Clean and the staff were very friendly

The wolfe tone bar is a great bar i have been many times ! enjoyed looking at all the pictures of all our heros . why should we republicans not be able to remember and honour our dead in this way. bars like this are few and far between so all you with anything negative to say about it you can go and sit in one of your many little bitter british legion bars where you will find true hatred for anyone who does not think thier way so if you dont like the bar you know what you can do

i was in this bar one wednesday night when they had a traditional session on. great music & craic with friendly staff. sure to return again.
Just home after spending the weekend in Letterkenny. The Wolfe Tone Bar is a must for anyone visiting Letterkenny. Brill bands and great craic. I will defo be back. went to some of the other pubs in Letterkenny but none of them would put a patch on the Wolfe Tone Bar
its not worth going t letterkenny n not visitin th Wolfetone.. I love that place,its th best of crk.. hope it wont b long till wer bac in it.. ;)

Brilliant night in this place, one of the best! My dad actually seen the Tones in the place years ago and said it was unreal.
a vibrant,beautiful ambiance with fresh pints,moving music and serious women. wolfe tone = fantastic,pleasure filled experience. protestants more than welcome too im sure,as long as they are catholic protestants!!!only joking,free the vibes and come right in.

cant wait to get there heard of it by many poeple . I hope that stupid fuck John is barred and the chicks are not, maybe if I get a green card I can come home and watch the chicks I mean the TIC and have a pint all the best Letterkenny.
A group of us are just home from letterkenny we had a great time in the wolfe tone bar.We spent most of our time in the bar the staff were great and so were the bands.Wewill return there next year for definite.Paul the barman was great keep up the good work.
Just have to say i was in letterkennyl with my partner in april coming back 27/9/07 for 4 days. We were in the wolfe tone to watch the celtic match had a great day went back at night and was even better. There is one solution to the people who are putting the wolfe tone down do not go in as for me i am looking forward to another good pint and craic with the bar staff who were great roll on the 27th of sept .
I have been going there for a few months and have not seen these lesbians that Carol mentioned. Fingers crossed for this weekend! Good pub though.
I agree with Seoma, it is not everyones choice. That is what the bar is about remembering not being agressive in anyway shape or form. Myself and my partner were over for New Year and went back last week. The staff, people and music once again was brill. As to the negative comments from everyone, please keep them to yourselves. I would highly recommend this bar to all my friends both Catholic and Protestant. My partner is actually Protestant and I myself are Catholic.

Oh my God this place is deadly if you like a wee bit of decent music and a wee pint and a chat with the friendly bar staff go here its absolutely deadly and il be definately back Im already planning a night out in it for my birthday in it!!!!

Definetly worth a visit. Excellent bar staff, great music and great craic... It is just a place for republicans to enjoy themselves and not hide their culture. p.s Wolfe Tone was a protestant!!!!
I think that this pub is the best in Letterkenny Great crack, and some class bands playing in it, went to it last year while at the fleadh!!!!! if people dont like the style of the pub of what it stands for then why do they go into it!!!!!!!!!
We visited the pub some weeks ago. I did think that it was a bit IRA but after reading the memorabilia you can see that at the beginning there was a just cause which somewhere along the line turned into a shambles. The one thing that I objected to was the performance of two lesbians when we were in the pub - hetrosexual couples dont carry on like that during the day and if they did they would soon be told to stop.
If john knew anything about history he would know himself that Theobald Wolfe Tone was himself a protestant. Great pub, great craic, a must see!!
Honestly it is the biggest piece of shit pub ive ever been to in ireland it makes me disturbed that my ancestors blood is been spilt and this ;hellhole is lying on top of the greatest country ive ever seen... i spit on this bar..Burke
i would definately recommend this bar to anyone visiting Letterkenny. It has great atmosphere and the staff and other customers are lovely to be around. and as for Johns comment i think he should read over what he said and see that he is being bitter and realise people have their own likes and dislikes. there are plenty of other bars in the town and if people are offended by the Wolfe Tone they should visit somewhere else! As a matter of fact,if you look carefully John, you will see photographs of Catolics and Protestants on the walls. Cop on!
I agree with Pauls comment 100%. just one question John...Why are you visiting this website if you disagree with the layout of the WolfeTone Bar? You also mentioned secteriasm, do you know the meaning of this word? Your comment was full of hatred and bitterness as Paul mentioned. I visited this bar a few weeks ago and had the best night out in a long time. Its just great!!

just returned from letterkenny and we visited 5 bars there. the only bar we returned to was the wolfe tone. great bands, friendly staff and terrific atmosphere. our party consisted of 25 people, catholic and protestant. all enjoyed and we even took the time to find out who wolfe tone was.best wishes to everyone in beatiful donegal.
Not for everyone but for a good nights craic with some good music its def worth checking out! its not about being secterian and going nuts when your in there, its our History and we like craic!

I agree with John, when you go out you want to relax and enjoy yourself and have a bit of craic.
Fair enough we want to remember our history and respect what these people did for our country but personally I think it goes a bit overboard!
You don't want all that shoved in your face.
A pub should be a place where everyone can go no matter who or what they are.
If I was a protestant I'd be intimidated going into the wolfe tone.
