The Zotte is small and often crowded but with a great atmosphere, great beers, eclectic background music and good cheap food. Tables for food are usually full by 7 on a Friday, a little later on other days.
A refreshing alternative to the nearby Leidseplein tourist traps.
My favorite bar in Amsterdam. Mostly locals, no stoned English or American kids, great beer (+130 kinds), good and cheap food. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgable. Great atmosphere. Try the Wesmalle Dubbel on tap.
