we spent everynite there the bar staff were lovely friendly.pat was great johnny was brill mighty will defo go back thanks guys miss ye already
We love Jonny, Jeven and Pat, Brill pub, very welcoming! Like home from home. Only bn home a few hrs and missing them already! I should be so lucky coz a bide in BUCKIE!!!

Been to Mctavishes Bar last summer but when I go back Santa Ponsa this year I wont be going there. Prices are sky high, staff just want your money,if your a big spender they fall all over you but if you just go in for a couple of bevies your ignored. Entertainment is dull, old boy, one man band strumming his guitar to loud backing tracks, followed late at night by a nightly repetative intro and karaoke til the last punter runs out of money. Get your act together Mctavishes and ring in a few changes each year!

Just wanna add that Jon is what all sexy ladies go to Mctavishes bar in Santa Ponsa. He is a hot hot Babe. He gives us gals all the action we need on stage. If Jon was not there then the bar would close, cos the prices and staff are not friendly. Jon Babe there is nothing to compare with you. Love you and see you in 2008 xx

Went to SP on a girlies holiday in september. Went to mctavishes bar for the entertainment a couple of times which we did enjoy but the downside was that we could have done without the sleazy remarks and leering at us girls from the singer Pat who was old enough to be our grandfather. Sad really. But Jon was so nice to us and really kept us entertained. Thanks Jon.xx

Spent 2 weeks in Ponsa with my crew and sang karaoke in McTavishes most nights. We ruled big style but my band would be too big for that place!
The DJ bigged himself up too much and hit a few bum notes but he was a laugh!
Mctavishes bar - santa ponsa. we have just came back today. we had a brilliant time . Jon the DJ is fab ! I am 11 & he made my holiday very special.I sang every night. My Mum & Dad said Jon was brilliant. Pat is very good too. We are going back to see Jon soon.

this is the best pub in santa ponsa.the service from Ann Jevin Kerry and Julie is first classe. Entertainment from Pat and Jon is superb. CHEERS GUYS.

Would recommend mctavishes bar for watching the football but their nightly live entertainment is pure rubbish.
been in mctavishes bar for the past two years at the beginning of july entertainment is just the same thing every night and you would think that with the amount of money they are making a new toilet door for the gents would be nice
Was in mctavishes bar when on holiday last summer and I agree with other peoples comments about the karokee being on too late at night as it was boring having to sit through the live music wth the exception being Friday night when they had an Elvis night which was brilliant. Go to Durty Nellys for the best live music.
Last summer we were staying up the street from Mctavishes bar in Santa Ponsa so we went to the bar to see the football quite a few times. The bar had good screens to view the football. We stayed a few nights for the entertainment but found the early evening live entertainment to be quite poor, It was very repetetive and the singers backing tracks were very loud and noisy. Kareokee was good but started too late. Bar was nice though.
Popped in to Mctavishes bar Santa Ponsa last summer for a few bevvies and to listen to some live music. The singer was live (just about) but the music was just a karaoke machine backing him. Not impressed. The karaoke late at night was brill though. Enjoyed that. Bar staff were friendly but bar was real smoky. If you want live music dont bother to go there!
We visitied Mctavishes Ba, Santa Ponsa in June this year. We had our two teenagers on holiday with us. Mctavishes was recommended as a Karaoke bar that would entertain the teenagers. We were most disappointed to find that the Karaoke did not start until well past midnight. The early evening live music was geared more for a mature audience as the singer was in his 60s and did not provide entertainment for younger people. One night we did get to see some of the Karaoke and it was brilliant. The dj was outstanding. Pity it was on so late. The bar was nice but was very smoky at times.
Visited Mctavishes Bar Santa Ponsa end of August 2006. I would have to agree with previous comments that the DJ Jon is absolutely amazing. He is the life and soul of the place. Unfortunately he does not begin his Karoke until 12.30am, which is a not so clever of the management as a lot of people are just too tired and gone home by then. He entertains until 4am each morning and really keeps the crowd rocking and the women sooo happy. Thanks Jon for making our holiday so special. Long live the Man!!!!!!
mctavishes is the best pub ever! there's always a great atmosphere - its not just for the scots! live music is fantastic and the kareoke is excellent - i spent a lot of time there when i was very young and it holds many happy memories for me! the staff are very friendly and will always remember a face! if ur heading to santa ponsa make sure u check it out!!
for anyone out there that is headin to santa ponsa or is already there your holiday will never be remembered in the same way if you do not pay a visit to Mc Tavishes.
Not only are the staff so friendly& the entertainment amazing you"ll never be able to forget the night you got up& became whitney houston or elvis for a nite, you mite not remember the next morning but you"ll always have the pictures to prove it.

McTavishes is the best pub going! The DJ jon is absolutly georgous,funny,good singer and is a great dancer. He broght the pub to life. The staff were also great. It was the best holiday ever and im going back next year to McTavishes! want to say hi to Jon from Kayleigh, Jackie,Brian and Liam Allison. see you next year in 2006!
ANY visit to Santa Ponsa is not complete without a visit to McTavishes. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. The singer is called Pat and can sing just about anything. The DJ is absolutely amazing (good looking too!) and knows how to get the crowd going. Good Karaoke system, very clever!! Say hi from me if you go there
