I have just been reunited after twenty nine years with my old friend VB.
Sailed on P&O ss Oriana out of Sydney in 1980/81 and loved this brew Sooooo much.
Nice to see it in the UK now.
Without a doubt the best beer I have had, well maybe equal first with Crown Lager. If you dont like the old VB then you should be made to drink wine.I just wish I could get it here in the states. E-mail me atsnanini@aol.com if you know how. Well I guess I will go have a cleansing Bud now. Cheers

Does anyone know where to get Victoria Bitter in Chile (Santiago)?
I find VB to be a very pleasant beer to drink. Tried the rest and they are all shit. ALL OF THEM! Got a sore liver though.
It's been almost 10 years since I last tasted the glorious VB and luckliy one of my customers was going home to Melbourne for holiday and brought me back a couple cans to wet my palette again. I cant believe how wonderful it still is and brings back so many memories of being down there!! Now if I could only find a way to get here in the States I would be happy!!!!!
In a word, VILE. Maybe that's what the V stands for. Like quite a few Aussie beers, also gives you a unpleasant head the day after, which is probably due to some slightly shonky practices in the brewing. If you're going to drink Aussie beer, stick to Boag's or Squire's or Cooper's Red.
Hey all iam an aussie living in singapore (asia retards) anyway just starte drinking beer here and i gt say from a large range of international beers (hienekan, calsberg, asahi just to name a few and i have to say VB is my favorite so iam shocked to see all this negative talk about it, iam guessing its because its from victoria and a hate of vb comes from state to state wars? anyway what iam saying is that iam a nutural perspective and i have to say i love VB.

to me vb is fantastic and in the crazzy world we live in we should b thankfull that theres a bear ou there that a. dsnt make ur tung fall out b. theres not the side efects of bears falling on you and c. u dont have to b responsible orluv the tast to love drinkin it so me im all 4 vb
It is both distressing and unfortunate that the beer I grew up on and actually love after a hard day's work, is also the beer I am most ashamed to drink in public - characterised by visuals of uneducated, drunken, unruly troublemakers, VB is like the Axl Rose of beer. Great Talent, Bad Name. There's not much to it, but the simple things in life are often the best.
I think VB is by far the best beer in the word. I have tasted beer in 23 countries around the world and nothing compares to VB. I wish I could get it here in the States.
First and foremost to those who rated VB badly, they must have drank it warm. Most beers excluding Guinness can not be consumed anything less than icy cold. So to be fair to those uninformed individuals who've dissed our beer, please try it agian...Chilled!
Secondly, VB IS Australia. From the Old School ads to the no-frills packaging it's all about mateship, egalitarianism, a love for life's simplicities and hardwork for the betterment of our nation and utlimately ourselves. Lofty thoughts I admit, but that's what it's all about!
The Beer has been awarded numerous prestigious awards so there's no doubting it's quality. But what I love about it and what I think many Aussies love, is what it stands for...
If you don't know what it stands for then don't worry about it go back to drinking you lolly water.

This beer is not even worth a mention. There is also a myth that everybody in Australia drinks Forsters, well Forsters is crap also.
If you would like to try a good beer try a Tooheys draught.

victoria bitter is an absolute legendary beer mate. top grog indeed. any bloke who thinks its not 10/10 isnt a bloke at all
look mate, a facts a fact. and the fact says that VB is the best aussie beer out there. it's cheap. it gets you hammered. it comes in awesome green cans. taste fucking great. need i say more? have you ever been to a pary in aus and not seen VB? that's right, it's the national beer of aus. if you don't drink it, then your missing out on life.
and the best cold beer is Vic, VIctoria Bitter.

vb is a great beer on tap, refreshing to start with but an unmistakable after taste. true bitter beer lovers with know this is not a tradition bitter but id like to think its better, its refreshing like a lager but full flavoured. also $3 a pint at the pa on tuesday is the dux nuts. drunken my way through the western world and parts of asia take it from me shes a keeper.
VB is the worst beer on earth. VB is for people who get no milk and can't understand haze. On the other hand, Toohey is for ballers that have a frig full of milk and run sh*t.
vb is nothing special. high alcohol content, little taste. compared to the budweiser, miller, etc thats drank so profusely in the US.. yeah its better. but to even a mediocre sam adams it pales in comparison. compared to a dank stout or ipa from a microbrew its stagnant pisswater. the best widely distributed beer is samuel smith. vb is aussie pride, nothing more
VB has got to be drunk ice chilled - then its awesome!! Once it gets slightly warm its shit. I have travelled a bit and tasted many beers, like many european beers have a completely different taste but are great in their own right, VB's unique bitterness and great price makes it a winner!
For you stupid idiots rating VB(victoria bitter) and have never been to australia to drink it, you shouldn't even be on this forum, VB is awesome, it too bad we can't get it in the united states. I have been around the world twice and have drank many beers, nothing compares to VB!!!

VB was my saviour in Oz. I had feared a month having to drink piss Fosters, but VB was sold pretty much everywhere...and was drank pretty much everywhere! However, give me a pint of Boddies anyday!!
Aussies love to think they have the best of everything, but this is an over-sugared, chemical mix passing itself off as beer. Look, on a hot day, any cold beer goes down well, but I's almost rather have a glass of water then this stuff.
All these people giving it high ratings have obviously never travelled, because you'd realise quite quickly that Aus is 2nd only to America when it comes to crap beer.
