Worst beer in the world! by O capixaba
Jesus, Brazilian SKOL taste like water, one of the worst beer I know, just like American beer!!! It existed in Europe in the 60s and 70s but had no success for natural reasons, consumers did not like it!
Brazilai, Antartica, Brahama, Bohemia, Cerpa and some others taste much better.
My wife is Brazilian and I have downed literally gallons of SKOL from Brazil while living in Brazil .... whoever makes the stuff thats found in the imported beer section labeled skol is not SKOL. This stuff is made in TURKEY. Has nothing to do with Brazilian beer. If you want to turn-off your friends and offend a Brazilian.... serve them the stuff from Turkey. No offense to the Turkish community!
I just got back from Brasil(again) and if anybody is interested I can piss in a bottle for you as I drank so much Skol I am pissing 100% pure cerveja!

This is the best beer I have ever had. I have been stationed in Germany and been all around Europe. Skol, by far, was the best beer I have ever tasted. I lived in Brazil for three months and I drank enough Skol to kill a horse. Along with the women in Brazil, Skol made Brazil a great trip.
Great Beer, I went to Brazil for our honeymoon. Sitting on the beach, watching the waves with a cold Skol in hand.
I when to AVP international Market in San Mateo, CA to buy some Skol last weekend. I thought they came from Brazil, but they are imported by a US company, bottled in Turkey. Taste almost the same as made in Brazil Skol

SKOL beer is currently being imported into the us and the imported is Carlsberg USA. It tastes just like when i had it in Brazil!!

I was in Holland in 1981 and had my first Skol there- and ever since that time I have asked for it- never found it anywhere in the states. I just came across the beer glasses I bought in Holland back then- they are the official SKOL glasses used to serve the beer in the pub I visited back then. So cool that others here know of it. I read it was reformulated and that worries me.
Just go to your local Liquor store and ask the guy in charge of purchasing and he can get both, Skol and Brahma, from his distributor. I did it in Connecticut and all the guys on my soccer team now buy and enjoy them. Brahma has been available since Feb. 2006 and Skol just recently.
Just back from Xingu river in Brazi. Drank Skol all the time. excellent.
skol my friends was the name on my lips (and subsequently down my throat) when taking time out on the beaches of Natal and Ponta Negra in particular! The beach guys ensured your beer remained cold using a polystyrene casing, although i never let mine hang around long enough to test out that particular theory! I can wholeheartedly recommend this beer, and just its mere mention now transports me back to those heady days in Brazil- that seem so long ago now- cue Scarface music!!!
I just got back from guachos village and they do have SKOL beer directly from brasil. However they told me that they are now selling the beers for $5 a can.
They had pitty on me and sold me a 12 pack at the $2 rate but they said they are not doing that anymore.
If they are serious i dont know, but that's what the manager said. So where is that distributor at? $5 a can is too much.
Better yet how does one become a distributor?
I found a restaurant (Gaucho's Village) that sells Skol in Los Angeles for 12 bucks a six pack (takeout). I will ask who their distributor is, but it absolutely tastes like the ones I had in Rio for weeks and despite its priciness, it's awesome because it makes me wax nostalgic about the crazy days in Ipanema and LAPA!!!!!!
I have a Brazilian restaurant here in Seattle and I'm looking for the Brahma or Skol beer. Can somebody tell me of any importer or distributor from who I can buy those beer here in Washington State? Thanks for any help.

I traveled to Brazil for Carnaval this year and drank Skol beer every day. Does anyone know if this beer is available in Michigan?
Has anyone actually seen Skol in the United States yet? I keep searching for some but have not found any available. I would love to find out when it is available in the Texas Market.
I think it sums it up... SKOL, like many beers is made as close to the market as it can be. If Malaysia makes its own SKOL then most likely so do most countries!
Im from the UK and have been living / working in Malaysia for the last 3 yrs or so. SKOL here was launched as a low end cheap beer (in a country where beer is very expensive indeed). Anyway im drinking some now and its lovely after an hour in the freezer, better than Carlsberg itself. Im sad to hear from the chap in Ireland (forget northern or down there sorry) that SKOL is "created" at 2% Alcholol there. Here it is 5%. It realy is the best beer here - the Guiness is also made locally and is disgusting, dirty tasiting and generally fowl. The Carslberg is only good when draft - IF the pipes are clean (and they never are). Imported beers here are mad expensive except for Singha (Thailand) which is also a great beer - and Chang (Thailand) which has a cheap metallic taste.

I tried all three and Bohemia, but Skol hits the spot like no other. My friends and I are dying to find some here in the States!!!

I was born in Brazil (Brasil for locals), my opinion of this beer is all but positive, although I have not had an imported version of Skol, I very much like too. I’ve had Brahma chopp both imported and domestically in Brasil, it is imported to the USA by Rio Imports Inc. of Lincolnwood, Illinois, it’s just not Skol, any body familiar with this company I would like to know if Skol is on its way also 408 857 3528.

This beer is pretty resonable if its at the correct temp, but what i cant for the life of me work out is why you can buy SKOL here in england, but its 2%proof and tastes like absolute giggleberries, why change it?!
Skol, served very cold is an excellent beer. I drank it every day for the last three weeks in Brasil in Espirito Santo.
Considering some of the comments here, I wonder if perhaps it just ages badly? There is no way any person who drinks beer would rate the beer I had below a 7.
I don't know alot about how beer ages and how the flavour changes over time, so feel free to enlighten me those of you with more knowledge in this area.

I think you guys who are rating this beer highly are crazy. This is known throughout Latin America as one of the worst beers arounds. Yes the girls are hot in Brazil but the beer sucks.
U can drink Skol only if its 0°C cold, otherwise it really taste like piss. from the beginning there is not enough gas in it, an at the end of the bottle there not any more in it. It tastes like if someon dilutet normal beer with water. I was for 3 weeks in Brasil, and it was wonderfull the country, the people, but there ist always everywere only this shitty beer, that was horrible!!!

Brazilian SKOL is great but the stuff I bought in Massachusetts imported, SKOL was not at all the same. Brazil seems to be exporting crappy versions of their beer, same with brahma. Ken 315-264-3082

As said in my previous posting SKOL will be imported into the US within the next few weeks. We are importing it and it WILL be marketed on a Natonal level. Starting with the Northest (NY,NJ,MA,CT,RI,NH) as well as FL. and slowly spreading everywere else within 6 months. Unless there are distributors in other states willing to purchase immediately. I had this beer in '95 Argentina and was looking for a place to purchase. It kicks ass. I have never forgot the taste and how it good it looked. Was like my first virgin, lol....something you never forget : ) Enjoy South America and their other fine beers.
