just had brahma in brazil the first time yesterday - very enjoyable beer. This beer seems to be the flagship beer of brazil (correct me if i am wrong); all of the bars/restaurants served chopps (looks like 1/2glass) of brahma. Very clever serving - ensures you finish your beer before it gets too warm. kind of hard to keep track of how much to drink because it goes down very easily (no grimacing after a sip/chug). im not a beer expert - but i like this better than corona, bud, kokanee, stella. No bitter aftertaste, goes down smooth, flavorful. i like honey lagers (granville island, rickards red??sleemans) but these beers have bitter aftertaste. i heard red stripe from jamaica is good, but i havent tried it yet.

This beer has a very weak bite, flowery aroma and very pleasant afertaste leaning toward citrus/grape. It almost feels as if your drinking a soda rather then a beer. There is no sickly feeling or gassyness after it goes down, not carbonated at all. I expect a large amount of synthetic ingredient, which is infact a good thing with this beer as theyve managed to make it taste very non generically stale, it has its own character. In comparison to corona, corona has a very watery and lucid aftertaste which can be unpleasant, corona also has slightly more tangy punch in the guzzle then brahma which i dont like. Brahma is basically a corona without the watery taste, unpleasant aftertaste and it produces a much more floral, tasty experience. Its a very nice beer, easy to drink, non aggressive, it wants to be your friend, and you can take 10 of them and the buzz is very poignant without nausea from over carbonation and yeasting. My fav beer of all time. Indian cobra and the asian tiger beer following.

I had my first Brahma on a trip to Brazil and as many ppl mentioned its gr8 on a hot day but has to be real cold. The funny thing abt it is u can have as many as u like and still feel so fresh afterwards.

Was a massive fan of brahma until recently, this once fine imported beer is now brewed in the u.k. and has lost all of its lustre. As a alternative corona or modelo are decent. For somethig a little different try Cusquena (cus-ken-ya) Just stay away from this u.k. brewed drivle.

Drank it for the first time today and it is one of the very best lagers I have ever drunk. If you in the UK swallow your pride and dive in to a LIDALS and grab yourself some for much cheepness. And I thought Brazil only produce fit women.

I too enjoyed this beer. How do you reckon it compares to Carona? Better or worse?

This beer is really awful. The taste reminds me of Miller Lite or Budweiser. I was expecting so much more from this product. Brazil should stick to producing hot women and not beer.

Hot day, chilled beer - Brahma - excellent choice. This beer tastes greaaaat!!! It is very, very smooth with absolutely zero after taste or bitterness of most beers. While visting an excellent eatery/bar (Marlowes - highly recommend) in Richmond Hill I met A beautiful Brahma hostess (Katy) who offered a Brahma - my first! I've had mant a Corona night in Newport Beach - yet this new (to me) beer was so smooth - nicely chilled and incredibly refreshing. EVEN IF YOUR NOT A BEER DRINKER, OR NOT FOND OF BEER AT ALL - I THINK YOU'D ENJOY THIS BEER. As for Brahma Beer in Canada - you not only have a great product - you've excellent taste in promotional staff.

i think that brahma is a nice tasting lager, ok it dosent match up to really beers like newcastle brown or pedigree, but over all if ur just having a quick drink its prity good. those people that think that is cheap and nasty are wrong. - #402 I second that! Not quite up to corona standards but bash a bit of lemon/lime in there and your on the way to a serious winner! - Montez.

I am usually a Corona fan but recently spent some time in Canada and was suggested to me to try Brahma. What a pleasent surprise. Loved how the flavor was rich and no after taste like most beers. Now my problem I can't get it in my state of Illinois.. bummer...hopefully soon it will come this direction.

Quilmes rocks. The stuff is purer than Patagonian water and crisper than 99 chardonny. While Argentina is a place to die for, my trip there was made complete by this perfect beer. Quite simply sublime!

Looking at the above reviews and doing the math so far reviewers give this beer an average of 8.5. I started drinking this when the provincial distributors stopped carrying A Marca Bavaria. I liked that beer. It was a good summertime brew. Not hoppy crisp and clean. Is Brahma as good? No but pretty darn good. I give it an eight for a drink that I am looking for after a hot day in the sun. Now if you're one of those lame-asses who slam everything about the brew you remain true to well go ahead and bitch. I like a lot of different beers depending on what my tatses are looking for at that time and thus I keep lots of assorted varieties on hand. For this type of a summer brew it rates high. If you want to compare it to a more premium brew then fine, make the comparison and be disappointed in its rich offering. But if you are looking for a beer with a nice tatse, no bitterness, a crisp and clean finish with no residue, give Brahma a try.

I had my first Brahma in Recife in 1961. It was great in those big bottles (16oz?). I still remember it and wish that it was available in Texas. I am a Bud drinker, with a Keg in my Garage. BUT I would trade it for a keg of Brahma in a minute.

This beer is like swill. The taste is awful and bites on the back of your tongue, even when cold. Everyone who's rated this must smoke or not have any taste buds.

Love the beer had my first taste the other day and it was amazing. Planned on just a quick beer and go, turned into a night at the bar. Would purchase the stuff again is a second.

We enjoyed this beer while visting the Old Town Cafe in San Diego last year. Does anyone know where this beer can be purchased in Vancouver, WA?

I've heard so much about Brahma that I went to the local corner store last night and bought myself a 6-pack. While I chilled 5, I drank 1 right away to actually taste the beer for what it has to offer in terms of maltiness and hop character (this is what the Brits do with most of their beers - serve at a cool temperature vs ice cold as this "kills" the flavour of the beer). To my suprise it was good - better than Corona but I have yet to compare it against Bavaria (which is one of my preferred summertime refreshing lagers, next to Becks and Stella). The next one, which was really cold, went down really nice and smooth, with no "bad" aftertaste but just enough taste to stick around in the mouth for a few seconds, unlike the warm one whereby the taste stuck around for a bit longer. Lastly, as I am from Quebec, I unfortunately do not agree with a few postings up, as we have a heck of a lot of beers to offer, going from big breweries to buttloads of smaller microbreweries from all over the Quebec region, many of which surpass other good beers and produce fantastic, award winning beers (ex: Unibroue, St-Ambroise, Le Chaudron, etc..).

I came across Brahma in Rio last year when I was staying with friends. It's a great beer, light, pleasant and perfect for hot weather. But serve it very cold.

One of the most wonderfull beer we have in Quebec. When you drink it just after a Corona, the Corona taste like water and this one thaste wonderfull. A light great taste that look like the one of Bavaria but even better. Nothing to compare with Budweiser!!!

I have just heard that Brahma is sponsoring the latest tour of the DJ Gilles Peterson! If his tours are anything like his albums - I'm going.
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-0Rating-0
I agree with most of the comments where it is similar to Bud. I think it is a step up though. It is a light, easy drinking beer that is perfect for the summer. There is a definite lack in taste and is made for the general public. The finish disappears immediately after the first sip. Saying all that, this beer will be a hit this summer.

Have just tried brahma beer, i drink a lot of different beers and bought some 'cause it was going cheep at tescos, its tasteless and the people with me said the same, we all looked at each other and laughed, water has got more taste

Brahma is a great crisp beer with good flavor that goes down smooth. I love that the alcohol content is higher than other American beers, but doesn't adversly effect the taste. A better Bud. 9.

Just been to my local Tesco Extra, if you want this beer get down there now £4.99 for 12 bottles promotional bargain. At 40p a bottle it's well worth the rating I've given it. Best served chilled!

You can buy brahma at tesco, sainsburys, asda, morrisons and some smaller stores (some spar stores) - usually on promo at one of the supermarkets asda £10 a case in some stores. Its in all wetherspoon accounts too if you are out and about and fancy a bevvie - best served at 3 degrees with a wedge of lime-mmm

there is a brazilian bar in covent garden that sells brahma

Well I would agree that most American beer does taste like piss, Bud's drinkable, although a bit tasteless. But we do have good beer in England (not warm as the US thinks). Brahma is different, a bit tangy and very pleasant cold. Its still expensive here, but I hope when I go to Argentina soon i can find it cheaply. Bring on Brahma
