This is great beer. I was first introduced to it when I was posted to the Far East (New Brunswick). Thank goodness we have it in Alberta now.

First off I would like to say that a Beer commercial really has no effect on the quality of a beer. Keith's is a good beer, a GOOD beer, not great really. Secondly, here in Canada we are fortunate to have the wonderful choices of both bottled and on tap malt and hop libations offered to us. Rickard's Red on tap goes great with a meal. As do Grolsh and Becks and many of the other fine European and G.B. offerings. Even as watery and tasteless as many American beers tend to be, an ice cold MGD goes down nice on a hot summer day. When I was much younger, we referred to beer as a Barley Sandwich due to the fact that we believed it was a complete meal in a glass, always room for seconds, thirds and more. If you are so narrow minded to believe that there is only one beer out there for your palette, you are a beer drinker, not a beer lover, my friend. A change of beer occasionally will allow you to appreciate your regular bottle that much more, after all variety is the spice of life. Cheers all. Billy P

Hands down one of my favourite beers! I usually like to try many different kinds of beer, and i've tried alot of beer. But for some reason I keep coming back to this one. Its got a very distinctive taste that I enjoy oh so much. This micro brewery knows their beer. So on that note, lets raise a glass to Alexander Keiths India Pale Ale, a fine beer thats great for any occasion!

It's a decent beer but highly over rated. Here in Ontario the bars are calling it premium. Premium what? "do you want another pint of Carlsberg?" "yes please". gotta go.

I just wanted to write and say "THANK YOU for changing your beer add during the Ford World Curling event. Your shrieking idiot on previous ad's had me turning my sound off during the commercial. Disgusting Your new ad is quite appealing. Thanks for letting me vent. judy

dont listen to the keiths celtic yodelling fanboys this beer is horrible only ppl from the United States think it's good Canadian's dont drink it themselves they drink Unibroue and Creemore truth be told. Where is the zero rating?
Rating-1Rating-0Rating-0Rating-0Rating-0
yes he was charged with making and posessing child pornography oh well the beer is awful anyway and the ads stereotyping maritimers was insulting. im from alberta and if Big rock insulted their homeland people like keiths did id boycott them too.

The most overrated beer around. Always tastes slightly skunky, bears no relation to a true IPA, and retains its popularity mostly due to the legendary stuck-in-the-mud attitude of Nova Scotians who refuse to change. Even if the beer itself was halfway decent, the obnoxious ads alone cause it to be dropped from any list of good things. Fortunately the actor has been charged with posession of chld porn and has been dropped by the company. Maybe now they can rethink their campaign. Who knows, maybe next year it'll be made in Montreal of London when InBev closes down the Halifax plant. Wonder how popular it'll be then?

Wasn't their tv commercial spokesman...you know the annoying Scot..arrested and charged with child porn? Anyone fill me in on this

Alexander Keith's is the best brew out there. Ever since the first time i tryed it, I have never bought a different brand of beer. the scott's man is right. Give the beer the respect it deserves!!!

A lovely, smooth pale ale - wish it were available in Ireland!

Just a few comments reguarding Alexander Keith's beer comments...Iin the commercials, he isn't Scottsh you twits,he's from the watery East Coast of Canada.Second, how can you compare ales to nasty malt likker or Mexican blends?? I think there should be an age restriction on this site so kids can't get on.

I wish people would stop complaining about the commercials!! First, Its the best beer in the world, The commercial should have no influence when it comes to that. second, I Love those commercials! I am scottish and the scot on the commercials remind me of some of my scottish friends and relatives. so stop bad mouthing the ad, and just enjoy the beer! Cheers

I agree, I'm from Halifax. Actually I can see the brewery from my window. Keith's is alright, I dunno. I can see why all of the Americans like it... budwieser is shit, and all of those other poor quality redneck brews. I agree that European beers are much better. Holsten, Lowenbrau, Heineken, Stella, Stiegl... etc. Much better beers. But cheers to all of the die hard Keith fans, at least Halifax is known for something.

Keith's doesn't really come close to the really good beers f the world (france /belgium/germany/czech). I'm from Nova Scotia and understand the pride that many accociate with this beer. If people like it, good for them.....but for those of you who really appreciate good beer, don't waste your time with this shite.

I have" single handed" made two establishments stock my beer Alexander Keith.Village Pizza and the Legion. If a restaurant does not have Keith I tell them just give me water nothing will replace the flavour of my beer.
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
This is the only beer that I like so far, aside from Coor's Light (which really is only drinkable). Keith's is not so much beer as it is... candy. I don't drink much, but when I do, it's Keith's. And the commercials are great. Finally, a beer ad without people partying and using sex to sell it. (Unless some of the far eastern people think that his sideburns are sexy, I dunno...)

I have never met anyone here in the states that hasn't liked it a Lot. As for me, it is quite the God send and that is not coming from any spillytalker!!!!!!!!!!

Great beer, great commercials. What else can I say?
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
Alexander Keith's is one of the greatest refreshing beer I've tasted. It's my favorite ones. For the people that stop buying it just because of the commercials.. you're missing out. If you know your beer, the commercial is showing the history of alexander keith's beer that help won the war back in history! So it's important to know if you're really into beer! Cheers all!

For those out there wondering if people in Nove Scotia are somehow insulted by the commercials, I cannot speak for all Nova Scotians, but for myself an actual transplanted Blue Noser, I am not anywhere near being insulted by those commercials. I think they are absolutley hilarious, and I also come from a Scottish background. Maybe that is why I find those commercials so entertaining, he is not obnoxious, he makes me think of those great family get togethers I remember as a young child...LOL...then we must say something about the great legacy Mr. Keith has decided shared with all great beer effeceinados .. or in other words most Canadians .. and the lucky Americans who have been able to experience the fine craftsmanship and heart brewed into every batch. It's a GREAT BEER...try it (if your legal)...try two or three to get the best intended experience of the robust brew....just don't do it and get into a car...okay.
from The other Screaming Scotsman.....

There is something wrong with you people, the commercials are hilarious.. learn how to take a joke and grow up.. its the great taste that you buy the beer for anyways not the commercial.. it shouldn't change your view on the beer.. some people just have no sense
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
I've been drinking Keiths for over 30 years and think its the best beer ever. I work for Keiths so my opinion may be considered bias. However, I agree with previous reviews that the scotsman has got to go, those commericals are an embarrassment to us all.
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
This is easily one of Canada's finest creations next to all the fine ladies and the Avro Arrow. As for the screaming Scotsman many apologies to those offended -you can "blame" Mike Myers (another of Canada's fine 'inventions') for our strange preoccupation with Scots - or is it Sir John A MacDonald?? After a few of these fine fine bottles who would care?
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-0
Ihave to agree with the person who thinks your add with the screeming Scotsman during the curling is one of the worst and most obnoxious ads I have ever seen. I lived in Nova Scotia for about a year and met some of the greatest people I have had the pleasure of talking with, but I feel they would all be insulted with such a trashy ad. When I was younger I would have loved meeting some yappy so and so like this character because shortly thereafter he wouldnt have those awful sideburns, but would be screeming!

It is hard to believe that Keiths doesn't dominate the beer market straight across Canada. In the words of Mr. Perfect, Alexander Keiths is "the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be". And the commercials are brilliant.
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
First Beer I Ever Drank. Last Beer I'll Ever Drink. It's Just That Good.

Beer is great. Used to drink it all the time. Since your TV commercial (shown on curling games) arrived I've ceased purchase of your product. The add is insulting to say the least.
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-0
Your beer is fine, your commercial with the screaming scotsman re the beer with it's neck broken is the worst.!! I mute the TV every time and a lot of people I know do also. One friend of mine has quit buying Keiths because that commercial is so obnoxious!
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
Western Canada is very different from the east, but I do agree that this beer is for everyone! smooth and tasty!
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
Alexander Keiths is the greatest beer on Earth. In Nova Scotia, where it is brewed, it enjoys a cult following... except the "cult" is the majority of beer drinkers. They say God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th. I think he didn't rest. He spent the day relaxing and perfecting Keiths.

My Friends just made a quick trip up North to Canada from Ohio, and i told them to bring me back a 6-pack or a 12-packof Alexander Keiths, because it is the best beer i've ever had! Budweiser doesn't even begin to compare. Well to make a long story short ,my friends said that U.S. Customs told them they couldn't bring beer back into the States, is this true? How can i get Alexander Keiths without going to Canada?
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
I'm not sure if my last review was submitted, so i just want to say that Alexander Keiths is better than anything in the U.S. by far.
Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1Rating-1
Alexander Keith's....one of the best beers I have ever had. Ranks along side the dear departed McEwan's SPA. Shame Keith's cannot be found in the UK..
