Tried to purchase Velvet Beer online @ the website previously provided needmorebeer.com and the distributors stopped selling the beer for personal consumption. They require a sign up for a EComm Vendor Serial Number which includes a fee. Someone dear to me visited the Prague and enjoyed the beer so much i would like to purchase some for his birthday which is in several weeks. Can i find it elsewhere? Please help...

Velvet was the first beer i had in Prague. Loved it. Really high quality. As the other checz beers:) I enjoyed during drinking let alone after drinking:P Try it I suggest.

I agree completely that VELVET is probably the best beer ever made. Many of you were complaining about the high price of that beer. But i doubt that its possible to buy it for lower price. VELVET is about 2,5 times more expencive than other beers even here in czech republic. Anyway i highly recommend bottle (0,5 litre ) of VELVET, if you see it somewhere go for it :). Its slightly different than that from a can.

Have to agree, Velvet is one of my absolute favorites. Studied in Prague last semester and fell in love with several beers there, Velvet at the top. Just purchased 24 cans and a glass from www.needmorebeer.com/velvet.htm for about $120 w/shipping. Expensive! I had a lot of Velvet on tap and in the bottle while in Prague but never from a can...can anybody attest to a quality difference?

A buddy went to the Czech Republic and brought back a couple of cases of Velvet beer. It's literally the best beer I've ever tasted. It's smooth almost cream like head is just the beginning. The beer itself is on the dark gold side. The taste is refreshingly light for a European beer however there is plenty of body. You can taste the top notch ingredients in this beer. The after taste leaves you wanting more. I saw the company offering the beer stateside for about $150 a case. I was wondering if anyone has found any other distributors with a better price. If so please e-mail me. Cheers, Scott

Velvet proved to be the pick of the Czech beers i tasted over the 6 days i was in Prague. It is widely known that the Czechs drink more beer per capita than any other county (on average 160 litres per person every year - including babies). This beer pours like a guiness (don't wait for it to settle though). This is not really a session Drink - Have it with dinner - for a Czech session drink Try Pilsenner Urquell or Staropramen. This is a drink to be savoured. Hard to get overseas - but pure Gold like the colour it is. Try www.needmorebeer.com/velvet.htm (an aussie site) if you want to get your hands on it. I cannot recommend this highly enough - and i drink a lot of beer - both home-brewed and purchased. It was a highlight of my round the world beer drinking trip!

I have to agree with everyone else that it is the best beer I have ever had. I just spent the last several weeks in the Czech Republic sampling many amazing beers but none can compare to Velvet. I just got back and this was my first search to find some stateside so if anyone has tracked it down please let me know where I can get some.

Backpacking through Prague I dicovered the Velvet, the moment I sipped it down I knew that I would be unhappy once I was back in the states. It was the most amazing beer I've ever tasted. I found a website where you can order it and get it shipped to america, but it cost a total of 150 for 24 cans. If anybody can find it in the states please feel free to email me.

I have also been searching for Velvet here in the states since first enjoying it at the Dubliner in Bratislava. I brought a couple of cans home with me but just can't bring myself to open them. I've been told that you're actually not supposed to let the beer settle before drinking, although I chose to let it rest a bit before enjoying.

Had it almost a year ago in Prague, and I'm still thinking of it. I'm hoping to duplicate it at home (I'm a homebrewer) but have had little luck with recipe ideas. Truly outstanding beer.

Velvet is more than just a beer....it's an experience. I fell in love with it from the moment it touched my lips. It's smooth and full of flavor, and the suspence of waiting for the foam to settle is exciting. It is slightly harder to find than other local beers, but I assure you that when you find a pub with Velvet on tap, you'll go back.

I'm not a beer drinker, but when I had a bottle of Velvet beer poured into the tall glass and watched the toronado effect and the creamy foam I was hooked. Not all Pubs have Velvet in the Czech Rep. Some of the small towns do carry it. I have never had a beer like it. I too am trying to find it state side. I brought three bottles home, along with two beautiful tall glasses. When I go back I will have Velvet, the best beer I have ever tasted..............
