I ride a small bike but this beer makes me think its a big bike it also puts me in a mood to listen to my favourite polish opera.
Oh yeah, the 1st time I had Elephant beer was on vacation in St. Croix US Virgin Islands.....good malt liquor!
My all time favorite beer. It is strong yet suttle, very flavoursome, and good alcohol %. I am yet to meet a beer which can compete. If i could afford it, it would be the only beer i drink. A mate just got me a slab for my bday. sooo goood. farkin hell, all this beer talk got me rather thirsty. work sucks.

I was drinking Elephant beer years ago and I rate real Danish Elephant beer as without doubt the best lager I have ever tasted. To cut a long story short I recently purchased the re-launched version from Sainsburys and its not the beer I remember. The label gives it away as although it says brewed in the EU, Northampton is in the EU and I dont imagine for one minute that if they had brought it all the way from Copenhagen the word IMPORTED would not appear, It does not. Doubting my taste buds I phoned Carlsberg UK who confirmed my fears, its brewed in the UK and in my opinion a poor copy of the original. I envy you lucky soles who can buy the imported version, it truly is one of the best beers in the world !
I've always been a big fan of Elephant Beer. The taste is superb. It's also good to kill the hangovers after a rough night. But it's not a beer to toss down, it should be enjoyed slowly with respect.
I went to the bars last night and I tried the Elephant. It hit just right. After a corona and various other select beverages as well as a great lakes dortmunder gold. (about as an amazing beer) it still took the list. It was still an exceptional beer.
Here in the Northwest of USA(Where microbrews were popular BEFORE the AmericanYuppies in California & New England FINALLY jumped on the bandwagon), I've been able to get Carlsburg Elephant in (4) pack 500ml cans at "Grocery Outlet", but only at the store in Auburn. I ve always heard about this beer, but only reciently had the opportunity to try it. The supply in Auburn has been good and reasonable, which I am quite pleased with, as I find this a very pleasing beer, very smooth, kinda sweet, BUT it will creep up on you and kick your ass if you are not careful.
Carlsberg are relaunching Carlsberg Elephant Beer in the UK from July 2006. It will be sold in all ASDA and Sainsbury's Stores, in a 4 pack 275ml bottle.
The best beer I have ever had bar none. My local Off-licence introduced me to it as he was trying to shift the last few bottles. I could kill hm as I cannot get them anywhre now. He's ruined me. Strong but smooth.
I was a US sailor, operative word here is "was" but back in the 70's we made a port call in Denmark and to this day I STILL talk to people about the great elephant beer night I had back then.
Elephant beer (as I recall as a young 18-19 your old at the time) had a nice smooth taste (I currently like to drink coors or miller draft with scotch (Jack daniels if I have it 10 high if I don't) as a boiler maker).... Denmarks beer was great.

This beer is brewed in Denmark and is a subsidiary or special brew of Carlsberg brewery. You can get it in 7-11 and every Kiosk in Denmark for around 9-10 kroner, or about $1.50-2.00. Never seen it in the states, but while I've been here I've drank this beer everyday and it always makes me feel warm and hygge (cozy)inside. DRINK AND GET DRUNK!!!!!!!!! COPENHAGEN BEER SNOBS!!!!
bloody nice, though tastes like it has some spirits added to it, i.e. vodka. Not as nice as some of the good german beers but better than anything aussie. And potent...im on my first and can feel it already....Nice smell and aftertaste as well. A GREAT BEER!
Elephant Beer will be back on the shelves mid-may (UK only at present).

and i had really bad hair then. but they don't sell it here so it's alright now. and my hair's much better too.
I've heard that Carlsberg is going to relaunch Elephant this summer. Has anyone else heard that? I hope so, it's such a great beer
Several years ago Cost cutter use to sell Elephant beer. Since they stopped selling it, i have been unable to get any in South East London, Can anyone help as i've got a party coming up & i'd love too get hold of a case or two.
I purchase Elephant Beer for my 86 year old dad.
He drinks it when abroad, but can not get it where he lives in Florida. I get it at my local HarrisTeeter in Arlington Virginia.
The best beer yet! Drink plenty while in Thisted, Denmark.

Allmost the best since years ago. So the Carlsberg - ELEPHANT - Label grows up to our motorbikeclub- colour. It's riding for friendly bikers in Germany and in Denmark, scall for Denmark !!!

This is one of the worlds great beers , and that comes from an English Bitter beer drinker . Does anyone know if you can buy it in UK ?
I remember Elephant as one of the better European beers I have had.. Unfortunately it is not available inCanada .. pity.. Maybe the less favourable comments come from people who got old stock ..beer has not have a infinite shelf life and should be enjoyed within 6 months of bottling..
MOre of a question then a review. Lost a quiz night on a question about Elephant Beer. The question being where does it originate from. I answered Denmark because brewed by Carlsberg and named after elephant gates in Copenhagen. They said it was South Africa. I have lived in SA and never heard it being talked of originating from there. Please eome one help. Want to prove a point next week. Lost £80 pund. If any one could help much appreciated, Cheers the poor student Richard

hehe a bit fynnu hearing u talking about a danish beer, but yeahh its a good strong beer, but nothing special if u ask me. Good if u want to get drunk!
Firstly elephant beer is pretty mega AAAAA. Clear and gently potent a delight to drink. WE drank it some years ago after a hard gym session. Legless after 5.
Problem is in the Northern UK we cant get it anymore. Does anyone especially from Carlsberg Plc know where I can get a case for Christmas. I live in Leeds West Yorkshire and all I get from the Asian shops is 'Ah those were the days' surely we can get it from somewhere near by

As I can see you DON'T know south american's beer.
and the dennmark Elephant is one of the best beer I ever had. very tastefull. It's taste is something in between of Antártica and Bohêmia. Do you know such beers?
you better open your mouth only to drink your budweiser . if you call that urine as beer.
The taste is not brilliant, but it is better than any other South American beers. And it can get you drunk quickly, so watch out.
