I was in Egypt in 2001 on vacation. It is a great beer, full of flavor and delivers a really nice buzz. I wish I could get it now.

Discovered Stella Export in Cairo in mid-eighties, and considered it the best beer ever made. I have always wnated to buy it in the states, but have been unable to find it. Any suggestions?

Stella was originally marketed in Egypt in the 1800s by a Greek family. Europeans, Americans and a large number of tourists recognized its natural exquisite taste, and it compares more to German or Danish beers with a higher concentration of alcohol. One can never forget that delicious taste!

Stella was a joyful find while in Egypt!! I would recommend it to anyone. It has a good smooth taste with no after taste!

Nine of us from Ottawa Canada and Portland Oregon toured Egypt and discovered Stella beer from Egypt. It was a joy and helped us climb Mount Sinai. Sadly, we could not find it in other places in the mid-east. It is full-bodied, has a rich color, and the flavor is very satisfying. The bottle size there was about half litre.

I worked in Egypt in 1979-1980 and drank plenty of this stuff. Quality control was a little suspect as sometimes the brew was flat and other times very lively but that probably had as much to do with handling as anything else. I have very fond memories of this brew!

I drank Stella in Egypt with my Army and Marine buddies in the late 50s and early 60s, and it was excellent. Still have fond memories of sitting in clubs and ordering buckets of Stella on ice (so we didn't have to wait too long for a refill). Beer has an interesting history since first made; many British soldiers lived on the stuff in WWII

22LE? No way (unless in a bar), maybe 6-7 in a shop. Not bad, quality at times can vary, I think depending in part on how long the stuff is hanging around.

Preliminary report confirmed. Stella is good (unlike Egyptian wine....which is truly vile). There are 2 kinds tho, the domestic (although for whom.....in an Islamic country?) and the Stella for export. The domestic is better. It has a slightly fruity taste. The beverage is not to be confused with Belgium's Stella Artois. There are other Egyptian beers out there...but quality control is kind of a new concept in Egypt.

After a long hot day in the dessert outside of Giza, a Stella sure hits the spot. I highly recommend it to anyone in traveling in Egypt!!
