Krombacher is undoubtably one of the best German beers. It´s a private brewery lets hope it stays that way.
I tried some of this last night in a bar that had it on draft. I was suspicious at first as I had never heard of it before and thought perhaps it was cheap swill. How wrong can you be? A delicious beer, probably one of the best lagers I have ever tasted. Reminisent of Bitburger, although I think this may be better. Clean tasting and refreshing, yet with a distinctive almost bold taste. More!
In 1989 (3 weeks after the wall came down) I visited my brother-in-law in Bremen, Germany. He had 56 beers in my room ready for sampling. After trying Krombacher, I said I found my favorite. Although I have tried and liked many other German/Czech/Belgian beers, this remains my favorite. I have the same acquisition problem as others in the U.S. but am able to obtain 5 cases per quarter (through some Luftwaffe friends). I also bring back as much Krombacher as I can each visit to Europe (usually 2 cases) as well as Veltins and a few other Muchich lagers/pils....
I am american and I lived in Germany for 8 months.For years I thought Budweiser was the best beer in the world and was affraid of not getting it in Germany so I tryed all kinds of beer in Germany and Found Krombacher to be the best German beer so thats all I drank when in Germany.I like it better than Budweiser.Now I am back in America in NJ and cant find Krombacher.Back to the Bud.now my second favorite.but WISH I had some Kronbacher!
We should form an American Krobacher Club,Rent a Bus Drive to Canada and load up (!!!)the Bus with Krombacher and take it HOME!!!!I heard you can get it up there.
I have been drinking this beer for about 10 years on my many trips to Germany. The only reason I go is for the beer. This beer is the best daily drinker of them all.
Best beer in the world. hands down never had a better beer. Wish i could find somewhere to get it. if anyone could tell me where in Brookyln they found it PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Im almost at the point im gonna go to Canada and get as much as i can bring back.

I too discovered this beer in Brooklyn. Kensington area. I have since been wandering around the neigborhood buying up what is left of the last shipment. I am worried it won't return. Was drinking Bitburger in cans to hold me over until I discovered a stash of about 15 bottles of Krombacher in the 660ml size. Now, I am running low. Someone help. I could become desperate if my supply runs out.

Bought a few bottles in Germany during the World Cup, just to give it a try. I drank it at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and found it to be the most refreshingly smooth (yet crisp) beer I have ever guzzled, and for only 35 pence!!
Problem is, I get back to England and its 2 quid a bottle, aagghh!!!

On a whim I bought a bottle of Krombacher Pils in a Russian store In Brooklyn. It sat around for one month. I thought it was some cheap Russian swill. I opened it up last night and enjoyed what is now my favorite beer. Obviously little is known about it in USA as apparently it is not imported. Gary Jacobson, Rosendale, NY

Excellent beer. No problem drinking and working the next day. Would love to buy in the USA.
Recently discovered by this reviewer it is an excellent smooth beer. Refreshing and a great way to pass a lazy afternoon (and night)..... possibly the morning as well
