I first came about this stuff in the RAF. Normally not available in the Dutch border area, there were a couple of shops that had stock. One of the best german brews around. It has that hoppy, bitter after taste that tells you you have just downed a bottle of the infamous 'Wabbly'! It is available in draught in Oxford area pubs, (particularly around Carterton for some unknown reason)! and I have just found it in a couple of bargain stores here in South Wales, (Barry & Bridgend) - £1.29 1/2 litre bottles.

Warsteiner Premium Verum has grown on me and I now rate it in my top 3 Pilsners along with Urquell and Staropramen.Love that slightly bitter hoppy finish which has always appealed to me as a Guinness drinker.

I was in the forces stationed in germany when i discovered the delights of Warsteiner, and i have drunk it ever since. No matter which country im inon holiday spain portugal or cyprus,it is the first thing i do hunt out a bar that serves warsteiner draught beir. Its just a great pity there are no bars i know of which sell it in Scotland and also no retailers which sell off licence. Or do you know something different????

I purchased a 12 pak at the Navy Exchange for $9.99 wanting to try something new while I watched Texas A&M beat undefeated Missouri AND WOW WHAT A GREAT TASTING BEAR. I made a special trip back to the Exchange Package store the following weekend to buy another 12 pack only to find one left - sure hope they restock the DUNKEL!

Warsteiner Dunkel is my new favorite by Warsteiner. Its awesome off the tap at Lagers in New Orleans.(draftfreak.com) Its very dark but not a stout so its not nearly as hefty as Guiness but will still add hair to your chest. (Beware ladies)

This beer is great. I love the dunkel version also. After drinking many beers for many years I must say that Warsteiner has the right about of flavor mixed with a great refreshing feeling. I don't want to make anyone mad, but here in Illinois I can get both regular and dunkel for $9.99/12 bottles every day of the year at a liquer store 10 minutes away from house.

Warsteiner is the best German brew commercially offered in the United States.

Lovely lager, clean, crisp and light, really nice beer, we should stop brewing under licence in the uk as the lager is rubbish, we need to start getting some genuine export in english pubs, anything is better than the usual rubbish we get ie, fosters, carling, carlsberg, stella and 1664, wouldent touch any of this with a forty foot barge pole.

I have tried many, many different beers in my life. It is next to impossible to select only one as my favorite since there are many good beers on this planet. However I will say that Warsteiner does stand out above them all. It is very well balanced with a great taste. There are other beers that have more flavour but I thhink the balance of this beer, cleaness is unreal. Forget the bottles or cans, find a pub that serves it on tap. Although this is a bit hard to do! .

At 47 years old, I have always been a casual beer drinker. I Have tried all domestics and imports including the best imported non-alchohol beers, in search of the best TASTING beer in the world. By far the best is Warsteiner Premium Verum! I tried it 6 months ago and now I won't settle for any other. Almost tastes like a dark beer but not at all molassesy. Warsteiner makes a dark that doesn't come close to the Verum!. My brother was stationed in Germany for 8 years and when on leave he brought home an entire dufflebag of the locally brewed beers. NONE tasted as good as Warsteiner! Crisp, clear, but with aVERY BOLD beer flavor that never quits. Excellent with food! This is a beer that I enjoy at any temp. but it tastes best ice cold. I challenge anyone who may think this beer does'nt taste good. Caution: This beer has potential to turn casual drinkers into alchoholics! Now, it's time for me to look at this beer more closely from a manufacturers viewpoint to see what makes this it so good. I pay $11.50 for a bottled 12!

I second Kepner's opinion. Since Red Hook stopped making Double Black in 2002, Warsteiner is the best beer widely available in the US. It's better than Urquell. For confirmation see beerme.com.

WARSTEINER Premium Verum is a pilsner style beer with a smooth, rich-full bodied taste wrapped in a thick creamy head and a refreshing hop finish with no aftertaste. Warsteiner quenches the beer lover's thirst for a clean, crisp, refreshing beer taste.
