Bitburger - Bitburger

****
It's hard to establish my credibility as every one seems to be a beer expert but I have had my share of beer all over the world: Russia, Africa, Australia, Canada, Germany, Belguim, Mexico, USA Ect.... I also know a great deal about what goes into the crafting of beer. This all being said; Bitburger is a social beer, not a craft beer. That means it is ment for mass consumption, not beer conisours. It does have a very bitter taste. This comes from the kind of hops and how they are used. I find that any beer that is "Social" is a waste of time. I would use it in beer pong, maybe, if I was broke, someone left it in my garage & it was the only beer in the house. In other words I don't like it. In fact out of all the beers I have had in my life it's dead last in taste and drinkability. If you feel other wise I suggest you widen your pallet to something other than Bud and Coors. If you disagree,& many of you will I suggest you take a trip to Bitburg in the Eifel region of Germany where it is brewed. Step into you local Gasthause and order a Bitbuger. The bar man will ask if you want cola to mix with it. Why such a discusting suggestion? Becuase that is how it is drank. Unless you are an ageing German man who has drank nothing but Bitburger his entire life or a misguided military man stationed at the nearby Spangdahlem AB that is most Germans drink thier beloved Bitburger. Becuase they can't stand the taste. Now I think we will all agree that Germans are experts on the subject of beer. So why is it that Bitburger is so popular. Becuase of advertising and money. The company has painted the entire country green with Bitburger signs, napkins and beer glasses. In most cities around the Eifel you can't even find another beer. Why? Becuase Bitburger paid for every single renovation of every single bar, resturant and Gasthause in the area. Under the circumstance that they would only serve their beer. The simple answer: Germans don't like Bitburger but they don't have anyother choice. Now then I have to get back to my Shiner Bock before some one comes along and puts a Bitburger sticker on it.
