I always feel I should drink this beer out of a paper bag - because it is so goddamn cheap (at least half the price of the so-called Premium Biers). I prefer this beer over the resident supremo, Berliner Pilsner, any day. When served cold, it has a rich & sweetish taste (like most export beers), not 'Herb' say like Be*ks [read: nasty and bitter] and has a decent amount of CO2; which should entertain you and your mates throughout the evening. Surprisingly, for such a cheap beer, it is still brewed in accordance with the German 'Reinheitsgebote' [read: kind of hangover free] ;-) What isn't so nice is the smell of your pits the morning after 10 of these - so drink responsibly :P

Sternburg is the king of cheap german beers. U can get it from all shops in the better part of Germany (which means EASTSIDE). There is also a Pilsener Version which I don't recommend. The red labeled Export has a stronger taste. Compared to other cheap german brands like Oettinger, Maternus or Schloss Pils Sternburg is quite tasty. There is nothing better than the smell of your skin the morning after you had 10 of them :-)
