Licher Beer by deb hall
I'd love to have some again. I was also introduced to Licher in Germany while serving with the US Army. It is one of the best beers I've ever tasted and I am not a beer drinker so that is saying alot.
I spent 3 years in Germany from 1975 to 1978. The first day I arrived there I was treated to many Licher Exports. It became my favorite beer. Thanks to the Army I got to see and taste the beer of many parts of Germany but Licher was the ONE. I went back to visit in 98 and my first stop after leaving the airport was to pick up a case of Licher Export. I almost cried when I had to leave and had undrank bottles left in my rental car. I also had part of a case of Bittburger that I had to leave also. Every so often I check to see if anyone is importing Licher but so far have not.
Great beer. My favorite.
I have never drunk Licher, but I will this weekend because it's payday. My liquor store just started carrying it.
I was stationed in Germany from January, 1984 - April, 1986, but was not a drinker at that time. I remember seeing the Licher signs in Germany, plus Beck's and others.
In 2003, I fell in love with beer on my 41st Birthday. Long live beer. May we always have it on earth!
As we rode thru countless villages and woodlands, our thoughts were always, Licher. The moment we could actually buy another case, 5-6$ and set those we didn't devour immediately on our window seal to almost freeze in the night. This was our existence, our life. How I miss it sooooooo.

i loved this beer while stationed in germany. i had glasses, ashtrays, mini-kegs, cases o beer, a green handy bottle opener for the key chain. even dated a girl from LICH,this was back in 89-93 in giessen, and i still look for this beer today. 20 years later,havent found one LICHER yet.
We use to buy Licher by the case in Germany (US ARMY 1980) - It was very good and cheap - and was served on tap or in bottles but always at room temp. - Really wish they would bring to the states - It would sell very well.
Why isn't this beer in the u.s.???? The best beer in the world and it's not in the u.s. wish i can get some now.
This beer is brilliant! Tastes super and doesn't give you a hang over in the morning!
They make nice glasses too! (yea, I stole one, its realy cool, nice handel and all that, it doesnt stop being in use every weekend!)
It's the beer that launched my ship, wrecked my marriage, and killed my dog. And through all that, I love it, and cried bitter tears when my last case ran out somewhere near the pirate infested waters off the coast of Somalia. I'm sailing around the world looking for a resupply, and Germany is too many weeks behind to turn back now...bless you Licher, the cause of, and solution to, all my problems.
