König Ludwig Dunkel - Beer, Ale - Reviews & Comments

The "König Ludwig Dunkel" (King Ludwig Dark [Beer]) brewed in Kaltenberg is certainly the best dark beer in Bavaria (remember that Bavaria has the best beer worldwide). König Ludwig Dunkel characterizes itself through its heavy malty and strong flavour without beeing bitter because of hop. In fact it is almost sweet. Anyway it is of course a very old and traditional bavarian beer (and brewed according to the "Bayrische Reinheitsgebot"). It isn't much of a tourist trap though (like the Hofbräuhaus for example). König Ludwig Dunkel is exactly the beer which you would want to drink on a hot day in a small beergarden - faraway from any tourists.
