I love this beer...where can I possibly find it in the states?
When I was stationed in Oki I found this beer to be the best out there. It had a reasonable price, great tasting, and was a whole lot stronger than the American beer on base. Oh yeah at some of there festivals you could get a can for 100 yen (roughly a dollar). Can’t beat that! It also went well with Japanese Curry.
Orion Draft is a really good "American style" lager.....with a very sharp aftertaste. Depending on batch/storage/dispensing conditions, it has the tendency to acquire a slightly "skunky" tone to it....but this may be due to the hops they use. The slight off flavoring is primarily aftertaste, with the beer maintaining a strong grainy flavor.
Americans will really like this beer as it is most similar to draft beer in the US but it's slightly stronger taste is just as good at the 4th beer as first one was.
The local brew here in Okinawa. Not to shabby. Whenever I cna't get my hands on it I find myself missing it. THe company is local and brew it here on the northern part ofthe island. Like the website says"It is a perfect match to hte heat and humidity of this fair island". They also throw one hell of a party in the mid summer. THe Orion Beer Festival is a Thank You to all the patrons who drink. Discounted beer, live bands nad food make for one heck of a good weekend with friends!!
