Tusker is a sweet smooth beer, made all the more refreshing by the east african heat no doubt. can it be purchased in canada?

Absolutely wonderful beer. I used to drink a lot when i was in Nairobi between 1993-1999. I never got satisfactory taste from other brands in North America.

It was by chance i had tusker beer on flight while returning from south africa. The taste of the beer I can forget and it is still there on my tonge. Trere no othere beer like tusker beer.
I miss u Tusker soo damn much,the shortage here in Canada makes me sick,someone do something,the Kenyans here in Canada need Tusker,its a basic need!
Last night i had the wonderful experience of eating some authentic Ethiopian cuisine and drinking Tusker for the first time. Absolutely amazing beer!!! There is no beer I can think of that can compare. It is a must try!

I must admit I was not use to drinking beers from Africa but after dating a absolutely wonderful lady from Kenya and trying Tusker Beer I really enjoyed this beer. It has a light but full flavor and is best enjoyed cold as possible just to the point of freezing.

Had an amazing 2 week holiday in kenya aug 06 and every morning, apart from when on safari, our amazing staff at the Flamingo Hotel would bring me and my now fiancee a bottle of perfectly chilled Tusker dead on 11am!! this became Tusker time!!
Having come back to the UK and being in the bar industry have found out a company who own brands like gordons, smirnoff etc have managed to get hold of the lovely stuff!! So hopefully places like wetherspoon/llyods no 1 may start to put it in their pubs!!
After a long day working to build new schools, clinics and roads in Djibouti and Kenya, nothing hit the spot just as well as a Tusker. No American beer seemed appropriate, not even the French 1664 Kronenberg was good enough (since Djibouti is a former French colony). No German lager or English brew would come close. Indeed, Tusker is part of the overall memory of Nairobi, Mt Kilamanjaro, Lamu, Manda Bay, and Pate Island. Gotta love Tusker!! It is as much Kenya as the Massai tribes!

I was born in Nairobi in 1961 and my father Govindbhai Mistry used to work at the Tusker Beer factory (Ruaraka). As a youngster I have got very happy memories of Ruaraka. Although I was too young to drink alcohol I had the odd taste now and then and I must say that it has a very distinct taste. Whenever I go out to restaurants in Leicester and if they serve Tusker Beer I ALWAYS have a few bottels. So if there is anyone out there who remember my father or family please contact me (arvind.g.mistry@btinternet.com).
One of the best beers u will ever taste, it makes me feel so happy when i have it.if u ever get the chance to taste it u will never want to stop drinking it.
I agree with Betty Chomba. Tusker is a winner!!! Our safari group tried three types...Safari, Kilimanjaro and Tusker. Tusker won over all.
Why I mean why would you even ask that! "TUSKER HAS NO EQUAL" period its the best thing that ever happened to kenyan happy people anyone out there who has been yhere can testify to this .Long live kenya long live tusker.......and by the way i order my tusker all the way from washington DC.
What a silly question about rating Tusker.. It can't be done.. Its the top beer ever produced on this plannet. After 2 hot years of XXXX Bitter finally I manged to get some Tusker right here in Brisbane. God.. that was absolute haven.. As the saying goes in Kenya.. BADA YA KAZI.. BURUDIKA NA TUSKER (AFTER A HARD DAY'S WORK RELEX WITH A TUSKER) !!! How True..
It is available at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando. So it is being imported and distributed by someone here in the US.
Just got back from a month in east Africa after being away for 15 years. Sitting in the 680 Hotel with a cool Tusker watching life go by on the Nairobi streets below is absolutely the best. The beer was a main staple for me as I drank it with both lunch and dinner. I HAVE to find a way to get it here in the states.
Sitting at the Ngorongoro lodge after a safari, a rainbow over the
crater and a TUSKER in hand life is great.
Left Kenya in 1955 but have been back mamy, many times with my family.
My first serious drink after having arrived has always been a Tusker Larger.
Best beer as far as I am concerned.

I had Tusker for the first time just the other day at a great South African place here in Calgary (yes I know Tusker is from Kenya). I'm not usually a big fan of lighter beers but this really stood out and went very well with my barbecued ostrich kabobs. I can only imagine enjoying an ice cold Tusker in Kenya - I'll just have to make it happen. ;)

Sitting outside the New Stanley Hotel with a TUSKER in the evening was definately a way of life. Happy days.

Drank this beer in Kenya, back in '89, often along with meal instead of bottled water. It was the best beer I have ever had in my life and I am now 75 years old. It doesn't seem to be available in my midwestern town, US. Can anyone tell me where I can buy some. Ah to taste that beer again after 16 years of just memories!

Defenitly one of the better beers in the country, always nice cold while sitting back watching the giraffe pass you by at sunset.
Tusker Lager - 500ml bottle - makes ANY safari successful! Nothing like it! This applies only to the lager, and not to Tusker Export or, oddly enough, draft. Locals drink it "moto" (warm), but we watalii need it baridi sana (ice cold).
