Lets be honest here people Beer Loa is good but Beer Loa Dark is in an another dimension its fantastic, got a find aplace to buy it at home
Formaldehyde is also known to be a constituent of Beer Lao, the only beer manufactured in the Laos PDR.
Is this the secret ingredient?

We travelled throughout SE Aisia last year and sampled many beers. But there is nothing quite like a BeerLao on the banks of the Mekong. Thank god its now available in the UK!

It was truly a great day when I found out about Beer Lao being sold in Northmead outside the Sydney CBD. Toured Laos in 2005 and drank an enormous amount of this, the best beer in the world!
Found this beer sold by the case in a little off licence in Northmead (next to Parramatta - about 24km from the CBD of Sydney). Great little shop with all beers of the world.
This is being sold for $31 a case.. cheaper than VB and soooo much better.
This beer is top notch, definitely best enjoyed on the banks of the Mekong or in a tube floating down the river in Vang Vieng! For those brits out there, you can now get this stuff in the UK, although sadly its not 50 cents a bottle anymore. Check out www.beerlao.co.uk
Okay, Okay, Okay yes we bought the bloody t-shirt and Laos is one of the best countries I have ever been to but the best beer in the world...c'mon boys. There is a lot of hype with this beer and granted its very tasty and at the price excellent value I can't say it was the best. Lets be realistic boys.

Beer Lao is by far the best beer i have tasted on my extensive travels; It is much higher quality than the Uk beer which I drink regularly; it even exceeded the German Beer Purity standards when tested recently. drank gallons (or litres) of the stuff, no hangover, a slight one after Lao-Lao chasers but that's to be expected. This beer is far better than Thai beer (I drink Chang when there) which leaves a bad taste in my mouth the following morning. Beer Lao is right up there with the top German beers, N.B. the more expensive beer with almost the same label is 6.5% the normal Beer lao is 5.5% and the wonderful Beer Lao Dark Lager is 6.5%. Try them all, preferably on the banks of the Mekong at Luang Prabang.

Truly a demigod of the beer world. The whole of Laos is based on the stuff. I lived there and never a day went by that I didn;t knock back a bottle or 6 with my Lao workmates.
Best bought away from the tourist traps, you can get it for as little as 5500 Kip (About .50 cents), if you return an empty bottle that is. Also go for the bottle over the draft (fresh), as it is by far the better of the 2 opitions.
Best beer ever! And the best thing about it is that it doesn't give you a hangover - if you had one it was because of the lao lao whisky! Where is it available in Germany?

I thought that Beer Loas was the best beer I have ever had! I live in Ireland, so I know my beer! I had it this summer in Cambodai. Even from the can, it was one of the nicest things I have ever tasted. I recommend it to anyone who travels to south east asia! it's a must!! I can't wait until they bring it over here!! Hope they do!

Beer Laos, decent beer but massivley hyped up, Even in drinking draught in Vientianne with the main brewery up the road, it still has a chemical vibe about it.

Well all you Australians are lucky as Beer Lao will be hitting the shelves there before the end of this year. Beer Lao will be available at most Bottle outlets and hotels starting Melbourne and Sydney

Beer Lao is without doubt the best in SE Asia. Draught Beer Lao is one of the all-time great lagers anywhere in the world. Don't let the fact that every backpacking fool in the region sports one of their t-shirts put you off trying this brew. Clean taste, grass/wheat undertones, light finish. Unlike Chang, you can have a couple of Laos and still function for the rest of the day, which is nice...
As I returned back to Laos, Pakse after a motorcycling-trip the loaner offered me a beer. He served me a Heineken, I kindly refused, asking for a Beer Lao instead.
He didn't understand why I refused Heineken for a beer Lao. "Beer Lao is good for a piss" he said.
Sorry chap, I like Beer Lao more than Heineken, I said.

Beer Lao has to be one of the best beers i've ever tasted. I enjoyed drinking it in Lao, while sporting the t-shirt at the same time!
No wonder that Beerlao brand is being increasingly recognized in regional and internatinal market since Beerlao got some medal from 42 nd World Selection in Belgium 2003 and 24th International Award for food and beverages in Otober, 2004 in Paris, France.
Time Asia Magazin (The Asia's best) also wrote about Beerlao becomming the best local beer in November issue 2004.

Yeah, better than Tiger but not much isn't. Better than Chang but, well, not much isn't. Both have an odd impure undertone. This is cheap beer that tastes like cheap beer.
Leo Beer from Thailand is the only one of these cheapies worth a dang. I drank copious amounts in BKK and loved it. Never grew tired of Leo. Beer Lao and Chang have cooler logos but that's about it. I think most tourists where these shirts to look cool for each other. Drink Leo !
Ice cold Beer Laos while feasting on larb on the banks of the Mekong at sunset.....doesn't get any better! Bloody great beer!
