The beer is great! Where can I buy it here in the USA?
Has to be one of the best. Spent long enough running bush camps and lodges to know. For information, you can get Tafel in the UK through www.sawinesonline based in Wimbledon. £ 25.00 odd per box of 24.
Definitely not the world's best beer, but I agree that it is a good match for the heat and dust. Objectively, it's an average beer, but when it's too hot to drink anything richer, it is great.
this is an amazing beer! can not go wrong. was in namibia in may 06, and drank lots and lots of it(: smooth taste, great ice cold, not bitter. yum!

You defenitly have to try Tafel Lager. It is the best.The Heuschneider Family in Namibia can tell you all about this fantastic beer.

Well 9.99/10 actually, the only thing wrong with this fine lager is that its not served in pint glasses! come to england tafel!

The best beer I've ever tasted! I heard that they are gonna inport it to Finland, thank God! In march I visited Namibia and I fell in love with it. Now I'm longing for to drink it again.
This afternoon I had a couple to drink and it is the best beer that you can get. Long live Namibian Breweries.
Tafel Lager is among the finest of its kind and superbly satisfying. Lager, not ale, is the ideal thirst quencher in a dry and sun-baked land, and Tafel brewed in the best reinheitsgebot tradition is tuly exceptional. It is a shame that it is not more widely available outside southern Africa, but then, it is a prime reason to return to Swakopmund and smell the steam from the Hansa Brewery mingling with the sea fog rising from that cold Benguela current. There is no comparison around. The crisp taste of a fresh, cool Tafel is uncomparable. A friendship brew indeed. TLC 4 LIFE!!!
This a wel bodied full 4% lager, goes down with a smooth creamy taste. Not very malty like the Windhoek lager. Not avalaible everywhere. No 1 seller in Namibia.
