A superb brew by Bear in the Bull
Truly one of the best things to happen as a result of marrying a Romanian!
I hope and pray for the day that the king comes to England .I am sure it will do well on the british market and with its sweetness will win over the hearts of many people.
The Red Ursus is much better than the green label, which is a bit like fosters. Drink from the bottles not the cans taste is so much better, I think they also do a black beer I think it is from cluj. Come on UK supermarkets buy the stuff in for us.
I studied abroad in Cluj, Romania this past summer and Ursus was by far the best beer that we had. We stayed right down the street from the factory and you could smell it everytime you walked by the buliding. I traveled to Germany later in the summer and Ursus was better than the German beers too.
Did they sent the beer back? Please don't confuse beer with lemonade :)
On a scale of 1-10, this beer was only worthy of a 1 because I drank it ice cold. It is available at my local package store in Atlanta . . . I will advise them today to ship the stuff back to Romania. Ughhhhhhhh
By far, the best beer in Romania. I also drunk it in NY, but its availability was rather poor. Seems to be a well kept Romanian secret :)
Clean, somewhat sweet taste, not as much bitter aftertaste as a typical Pilsner. Did not have as much head but personally I don't find this to be a drawback. It's a pity this beer is not more widely available, as it would probably do well in the North American markets. I found it in a store in Queens, NY that specializes in import beers.
Hi all i went bak paking across the romanian carapathians in July '05 and descoverd Ursus the best drink i have ever tasted. i recomend to all to try some it is better than the so called "king of beers" budwiser by far!

The Best beer I've tried in România. I tried it in Bucuresti and I've been astonished... It's even better than Spanish beers (excluding Moritz)
I was working in Romania on a film for 4 months. I was very surprised at how good Ursus was. It has affected me so much that now back in Canada my favourite beers here are not quite as good any more.
During my recent trip to Europe, I visited Romainia and was more than pleasantly surprised to find the best beer I have ever drank there. It surpassed the German beers in both smoothness and drinkablility. I have been a fan of Mexican beers for years, but Ursus surpasses all the Mexican beers I have tried. Dan Strosnider
I worked for 3 months in Romania (Sibiu/Cisnadie) and
after the work, we drunk Ursus Premium. It was one of
the best beer i ever had!
I had been living in Prague for a while when I finally made it to Romania. Ursus was indeed the king of beers there. It was sweet, bubbly and wonderful. I have been disappointed in its seeming unavailability outside of Romania, for this is a great beer that I'd love to get a hold of again.
