Whenever I am in West Africa I just love an ice cold Star Beer! Have just returned from Sierra Leone
Star Beer, oh the joy of a cold Star, whilng away the rainy season sitting in Pa Kargbo`s or down in the Gbetgbo. Watching the lizards eating the mosquito beasts. Happy times and very fond memories. One of the finest beers I have ever enoyed, even the bits of rice added much to the flavour.

I long for a STAR BEER. Haven't had it since I was in Sierra Leone about 25 years ago. I really pleased to hear it's still being brewed - is there an outlet in the UK?
I first drank Star in Port Harcourt, Nigeria 2yrs. ago. It's one of my favorites. I've traveled from the U.S. to Kazakhstan and tried beer from everyplace in between and I'd rate it with the best.
I first incountered Star Beer in Ghana, waiting for a flight to Sierra Leone. Upon arriving found Star Beer there also. Visited the Brewery in Sierra Leone and received some Star Beer logo mugs. Heineken was my beer, but not in Sierra Leone - I will always pick Star Beer.
we used to drink it when it was a lottery on what strength it was {each round would vary} but was still a top beer and helped us through not the best of times Bring on a ice cold star!!! 99-01
I was owner of 'BIG BEN' Bar restaurant at ABERDEEN from 2003-2005.
Star Beer was always my favourite beer - especially after their revamp of the brewery - now no more added food to the beer!!!
Considering the humidity - it was a good beer you could drink all day - especially on a Sunday!

Having spent nearly 3 years enjoying the delight of Star beer, I feel compelled to up the rating to a 9. Since it's revamp (a new fangled cooling process that gives it a sharper feel with greater refresher values) I must rate this as one of the finest lagers in the world. I can confirm that Ian Hughes is probably its No 2 fan (thanks for compliment, Mate)
Being in Sierra Leone for just over 11 months and missing certain aspects of the UK, I came accross STAR BEER. Now I have been converted and would rather drink the local brew than that of the likes of Heineken which is also available here. I have even managed to visit the brewery and have made friends with the directors. In my opinion, apart from my good friend Stu Bowles, consider myself to be its No1 UK fan. Try it, it's not a bad drop at all.
