Best of the Best by Biminibill
I travel to Slovakia about three times a year since my long term girlfriend lives in Banska Bystrica. Over the years I've tried them all but find Saris light my favorite. I drink the others when the Saris isn't available and they ALL are better than the crap made in the USA but Saris is easy, goes down neat and gives me a nice buzz. I always bring a few cans back with me and my girlfriend does as well when she comes over here. Does anyone know if it is ever imported to the States? For now I can drink the Budvar (the real Budweiser) under the import label Czechvar. It's good, better on tap in Europe and certainly better than the panther piss they make in St. Louis and call "Budweiser".
Absolutely, no question, one perfect beer. During a night out on the town in Kosice, I remarked to my colleagues from Molex-Slovakia: US is slowly poisoning their own with disgusting beer they promote as the finest. If I only I knew how to get this to America!

Saris is a SUPERB beer, one of the best I have tasted. Zlaty Bazant is nothing special and I would choose Gambrinus over that anyday. Saris has a unique taste and personally found it impossible to resist......
I dont agree. When you are in Slovakia, its better to buy any Czech beer or "Zlaty Bazant" and dont risk weird things like Saris or Topvar.
Both Saris and Topvar are poor. When in Slovakia try Zlaty Bazant, or any good Czech beer.
One of the most delicious (and probably even MOST delicious) Slovak beers. Especially it's dark specie has no concurence at all. It is produced in the biggest slovak brewevery, that carries the same name. It produces also 'Smadny mnich' (thirsty monk) and loads Radegast and 'Cierny kozel' (black billy-goat) for the whole region. It belongs under Plzensky prazdroj (plzenian grand-source) which is in cooperation with the great Heineken group. Saris as the beer has already won many prizes on an international competitions.
