The Best Place For Spanish Beer in Edinburgh by Dan339
There's a place in Leith called Tapa that has the best selction of Spanish beers Ive seen since moving here.
I haven't had the beer since 1990 or so. One of the best I've had. If anyone knows where I can find it in St. louis please let me know. Strong and good tasting. Believe it that they sell beer in beer machines in Madrid?
Forget your San Miguel, this is Spain's best beer, closely followed by Cruzcampo.

You can find this fabulous beer in Boston , Lincolnshire, in a Spanish tapas bar called La Bodega.

Mahou is another Budweiser, is water down beer definitely a poor quality beer like every other Spanish beer.
If you going to drink beer drink German or Czech beers they are the best beers in the world, for all of you who think that Mahou is consider a beer take the time to educated your self before you make ridiculous comments about this shitty yellow Sprite with cheap alcohol.
Sorry the number 0 was not available to rate this beer. Spain is well known for its wines and for its culinary art not for bees this is truly urine in a bottle another Corona or Presidente at a very expensive price. If you going to drink beer drink German beers!

great to find it on sale in BODEGA BAR, Bowness on windermere, cumbria. (red bottle) although i prefer the green i cant complain!! i first tasted it in Benidorm and was hooked.

I tried the beer, first of all the bottle in a brown color already takes away from the beer. Bottle and label has poor presentation. Taste is medium full bodied and it is pleasent but nothing as special as I read in these comments. I wonder if these people are Mahou employees. I also tried Singha beer from Thailand and Crikak beer from germany.
I would rate it Crikak then Singha then Mahou in terms of new import beers.

decent beer, It does not have all the qualities of a good European beer...Give German Crikak Lager a try...now that beer I would pick over Mahou any day.

Mahou red is the finest lager that I have ever had, Lovely crisp refreshing taste and no after efects in the morning following a good session , please let me know if there is a UK sockist, it will save a lot of traveling.
i've only had one of them in a Spanish restaurant in Melbourne but I certainly have a thirst for more if only I could find them.

Mahou is the king of beers and a good Ten pints will have you vassuping all over any Jaggy Island. I love this stuff and so does my liver. Hmmmmmmm tasty.
oh yes i love to dunk a couple of mahou's when in tenerife. after a game of water polo theres nothing better than peaking out with a frosty mahou at the bar. shame its not in scotland so i could horse pint a couple when im out. mmmmmm.......
Top stuff, brewed in Madrid and that's the only place in Spain I've ever seen it on tap, be sure to check it out if you're there.
For only €1.20 a bottle you cannot fault this lager!! so much better than San Miguel! Never mind bringing ciggies back im gonna stock up on this wonderful liquid!!

I spent August in Salamanca, Alberca and Almendra and let me tell you, I drank a lot of alcohol. Mahou was a welcome constant through it all. It's lightness made it a wonderful after-breakfast drink and the small bottles meant that it was cold until you were finished. It's especially fantastic mixed with a lemon tonic or soda. We made pitchers of that and were pleasant and happy.
Im not usually a beer drinker but whilst on holiday with my mum in benidorm, we stocked up on mahou in fridge!
What a lovely beer, i drank untold of the stuff and got pleasently pissed (",) But the best bit was the following day, i only had slight hangover and my tummy was fine unlike when i drink anything else!!!! Top notch in my book.
Awesome beer... has fantastic slightly creamy head yet is refreshing and of the highest quality!! tastes best in a short wide glass almost like a whisky glass ("Cana"). Cruzcampo is also very good but isn't as distinctive as Mahou 5*, if u see this for sale in UK..... WAKE UP YOU'RE DREAMING ! ! ! !
While in Majorca in August I tried several beers, San Miguel, Cruz Campo etc and found a wee bar selling Mahou Classica. This was the best find on the holiday.
This beer is very smooth, very refreshing and if Big Joe can tell me whjere to get it I would be pleased.

Mahou beer has got to be one of the finest, smoothest and most thirst quenching beers ever, especially when served freezing cold (copa fria) in the Madrid summer. If you want to buy any online I have just purchased some myself at beersofeurope.co.uk. It cost about £29.00 a case + £7.50 next day delivery (any quantity).

I've been drinking Mahou (red) for eight years, (not consecutively) and its smoothness and taste surpasses anything i've drank before. Can't blame the Spanish for keeping their best product to themselves, and giving us duff san miguel. Shame you can't get it here!
It's good, but if you're in Spain, you should NOT be drinking beer! Go with the wine, my friend.

I had this as an all inclusive beer in Lanzarote, an allthough it didnt seem strong, i had about 9 /10 pints and all of a sudden i was away with it!, Crisp, Fresh Taste, a Really Nice Beer
