litlle leo confused by bigmac
converted to this superior brew some years ago. but still puzzled. i have always associated the name Leo with a lion, but the logo is infact a leopard - any one care to explain the reason?
either way, a truly exquisite brew - providing served/drank real chilled, (as any beer in thailand should be!)
I've lived in Thailand for three years. When I first came here, I drank Beer Sing, because it was in all the farang bars I went to, and I thought it was a premium brand. Chang just Chang'ed me up - one morning after was one morning after too much - never again! Tiger OK at a pinch, Heineken never, Beer LAO if available. Since moving to Issan two years ago, I've discovered Leo. Everything said about it here is right on the money - it always tastes great, not too sweet nor too dry - you never get "beer head" - and it's cheap. It's brewed by the same people who brew Singha, and the reason it's not available in farang bars is that they want to keep the market for Singha, and not compete with their own product. If it was available everywhere, not even the richest farang would prefer Beer Sing after a comparison taste.

I drink only 25 big bottles a day which costs me 46Baht each my wife thinks im having a baby
i weigh exsees 124 KG thats not alot man and im a shorty even my wife is taller than me i tell my wifie that you have to drink water not beer because im going skint buying it for myself i can't get an normal honda dream because my tommy flabbs over the seat so i had it exented so my tommy fitts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best beer in the world.
When I'm in Isaan, I drink every day about 10 big bottles of Leo. In 20 years never had a hangover, except some problems with my wife.
Many people dismiss Leo because of it's cheap price, and the fact it's not always available in bars. They assume there must be something wrong with it.
To my palate it's the perfect versatile little lager, great for day or night, just spot on. Thank God for Leo because the other Thai beers are not viable choices due to their nasty taste and/or painful side effects.
Yup! I'ts great, made me chuckle to see so many thumbs up for this great little beer.
I've lived in Thailand for nearly ten years now and took to Leo like a duck to water, initially my main reason was the price, then I noticed the lack of hangover and finally that it tasted damn good whatever your mood.
I have spoken to many Thais who converted from Chang and they all the same thing no hangover, a big plus for many who have to get up horribly early and do manual work.
I would also reccomend the Lion whiskies from Lao, red and black, very cheap and very nice for crazy low price and you can bring two of these over the border unlike premium brands.
Back to Leo I have a strict regiment of 4 big bottles every other night, but it's more of a guideline than a rule Hic!

Certainly the best beer in thailand, after a couple of years of being a devout Beer Chang drinker, I have realised my wrongs and converted to LEO.
Hi im in thailand at the moment, i must try beer leo after your comments! Singha beer is ok for the first few bottles but gets to the stomach. I hear beer Lao is supposed to be unreal, think its available here somewhere. WARNING: Chang beer contains a dangerous chemical called formldahyde, used for preserveing dead bodies among other things. Enjoy!
Leo!!! I came to this country and decided to stay here just because of the leo. Certainly after spending 5 years here, it will always and continually beat the the other Thai beers on the market. the morning after a few changs, or singa, i wake up feeling like somebody has kicked me in the nuts! I can't believe i ever paid money for a bottle of chang. I would prefer to stick my head down the dunny bowl and take a great bich gulp. Go Leo!

My first time in Thailand even brought my own Gin. Was persuaded to try a beer while out one day, and oh my gosh, i fell in love. The smoothest,crisp, most refreshing beer I've ever had, never looked back, (also made me....well the boyfriend was happy). Now I'm back home, been looking everywhere to buy some but no luck. How I miss My LEO, The Best Beer in the World. Miaow
Leo Beer really is the best, IMHO.
I am also a big fan of Asahi and Kirin beers and I think Leo is in the same league.
The colder the better and very little hangover. Unlike Tiger, Chang, Singha, etc

Me again, yeah, Chang is some FUNKY tasting stuff. Super chem or ....???? I couldn't make out what was in it, but I was certain that it shouldn't be in it.
I'm still in the danged USoA and am drinking BItburgers on university campus bathrooms. Drinking should be legal in such places. Listening to Dexter Gordon.
Beer Lao, Beer Chang and Tiger Beer hold NOTHING on Leo's clean drinkability. Of course, Sapporo's in another category, but Leo is the cleanest of beers made in Thailand. Man, I miss it there.

U gays are absolutely off the mark with your comments about LEO beer! LEO beer can NEVER touch the taste and texture and strength of BEER CHANG!
1. Singha gives you a head like someone shat in it and wiped his arse with your ears.
2. Chang is a horror of a beer and god knows whats in it I dread to think....the devils spunk.
3. Tiger....same it's bollocks.
4. Leo is the best out of a dreadful nations efforts to make beer. It's drinkable and your only cheap choice. I still wonder what chemical shit is in them?

I started this strand on a whim. I'm glad to see others out there feel the same. The stuff rocks. Definitely the most underrated beer in LOS.
Every day I've to drink 1 Leo beer.I think Leo is smooth, good taste and easy to drink all the time.
The only product I can drink made by the Sinha banner. Must be iced or ice cold. It is cheap as Chang or few baht more depending where u are. Goes good with Lao and Thai food.
I drank all of the popular beers in Thailand and wouldn't touch anything else after trying Leo. I even preferred this to Kloster Neustadt and Heineken beers which are widely available in Thailand. They couldn't touch Leo.
Leo is SMOOTH and basically dry. Nice clean, straight taste. The colder the better, especially in Thailand, of course. Nice grainy aftertaste and excellent regardless of how much you drink.
Beer Thai, Beer Lao, Beer Chang and Tiger Beer all have odd aspects....unnatural flavor hints throughout. Leo is no lie. Unlike those other paltry brands, Leo doesn't wreck the stomach, head, or digestive tract.
I miss Leo and certainly consider it one of the high points of my 4 months in Thailand. Leo !!!!
