I've tried all sorts of lagers including so-called premium brands. Tennents must surely be ranked one of the World's best beers. In January, we leave on a World cruise. Although I will take as many cans on board in Southampton as I can, I'm afraid the major downside of our great adventure is no Tennents.
Now, let's start with some facts. Tennants lager is made in a chemical factory in Glasgow, It tastes of chemicals and rots you from the inside out. Who on earth would choose this over ANY other lager must have no guts and taste buds left (presumably from drinking too much Tennants products!) It's gassy, tastes a bit like fizzy Nitromors and feels as though you have drank said product. Disgusting and it makes me ashamed to be Scottish. But the FLAGSHIP lager of Tennants is the famous Super T. Enjoyed by tramps nationwide, this dog-shit tasting concoction of gawd-knows what peaks at almost 10% alcoholic volume!! Tennants is "brewed" (er, dont you mean manufactured??) purely for poor folk and homeless tramps. Yuch!
I live in new zealand and go to a UK pub in town with a bunch of different beers jus to have a few pints of this stuff. love it! tried every beer in that pub and nothing comes close to tennents. (theres a good variety too) dont mind paying a few extra dollars for the taste.
If Carlsberg made decent lager....it would probably be Tennents! About 10 years ago I got right into doing the Wellpark brewery tour (Glasgow), and used to take a crowd of mates at least once a year. Haven't done it for a while now but it was the best brewery tour going and provided the best pint(s) of tennents around. I have now travelled throughout Europe, Oz, Japan and am living in the US, and have made a point of doing brewery tours everywhere I have been. None even come close to the event that is Wellpark! Well worth finding out if they still do them if you are in Glasgow.
Although i rate this a good drink my favorite and as i like strong drinks as i can handle it and dont over do it,i cant understand why the can size has changed from 500 ml to 460 ml i get my tennants for 109 per tin so im a bit peeved off that im now getting a smaller can for the same price were as you can get other beers in 500ml cans and some are even bigger at 560ml or there abouts whats going on
am i being ripped of now having to realy drink more due to smaller cans so instead of having 1 or 2 it 2 or 3

Actually a very decent beer. Had a sort of processed taste to it that was reminiscent of Michelob, but certainly had more body and character than Mich.
All in all, pretty good. I can see why it does well with the Scots.
I first tasted Tennants lager during a trip to the Scottish Highlands about 20 years ago, and I have been buying it ever since, on the rare occasions when it is available at our local liquor store. It is an excellent lager, and rates right up at the top of the ladder with Bavarian Spaten lager in my (slightly demented) opinion. Surprisingly underrated, and not very well known in the States, which is just as well, given the laws of supply, demand, and pricing.
does anyone remember tenants sd a smooth lager from about 7-8 years ago and is it still on the go????
i think it is a nice beer but i wold rather drink Magners it is da best drink i have ever tasted and Lee says that he is coming for you millar.

super t is by far the greatest lagar in the world and dave can suck my cock. miller your going down too. super ts get pinky full every week and i make super t cakes. i hate miller. big up yourself xx
For those interest...Tennants Lager is available on tap at the British Open Pub in Hilton Head, SC. Yes, it is the best.
this lager is the best in the world. its refreshing, crisp and amazing on a warm sunny day. i prefer it out a can unlike most folk who prefer it on draught. beats all that miller, bud and stella pish hands down. i cant get enough of it. i buy about 2 crates a week.
Tennants is the best, iv just been round oz and new zealand for a good while, and the first thing i will buy when i get off the plane in aberdeen is a six pack of tennants, a fish super and a pack of regal ciggies....... living the dream likes!
Took trip to the U.K. and Scotland last year....by the way, loved the place, but the big thing was to suffer through a glass of motor oil....er....Dark, Stout Ale...or whatever.....After the first one of these, I summonds the courage to ask for lighter, lager beer...if possible. I had the pleasure to quaf my first Tennents. Great, refreshing beer. Was all I drank the rest of my trip.

awesome stuff!! it takes getin used 2 though - the first time i had a can i nearly puked straight after it it was so bad! but then i tryed it again a couple of days later and it wos a bit better and its now my favourite thing to drink when im out with my mates
I am Scottish and was a student so i was pretty much weened on this stuff, not sure if it actually is nice or it has confused my mind into thinking it is, either way i like it and is usually the cheapest decent lager in Scotland and you will be hard pushed not to find it. There is also a new Ice cold version of draft, which tastes the same. If your buying it in a shop stick to the regular stuff and not the Super-Tennents if you value your eye sight, thats purely made for jakeys
Love it,cant get enough,went down south in feb knew we wouldnt find it down there so we brought five cases wi us.we were in pain but it was worth the struggle,forgot to buy food but hey who needs it when u got tennants.
this is the one people never had there been a more enjoyable lager this side of the planet, alot of people would say that tennants is not the best of drinks, but believe me, i work on the oilrigs and when i get home i enjoy nothing more than the smooth and rather elegant taste of a nice cold tennants!its a treat!
it all i drink i know its fuckin mingin but i like its by far the best beer in the world (apart from corona way some lime in it) and its cheep cheep crap its wats so good about it mon he jakies lol

tennents lager isint the worst in the world, but what makes the difference is how clean the pipes are in the pub. if they arent cleaned regularly it tastes rank rotten, but a nice cold clean tennents on a rare sunny scottish afternoon cannot be beaten! :D canned tennents tastes a little different, but is always nice!

Aaah the olde pint of T use to taste like a pint of rusty nails to me........but it was all we knew........I dont get out much anymore cos am getting on a bit so I just stick to the cups of T!
I tasted Tennent's while in Glasgow a few years ago and fell in love! For awhile I could get it on tap at The Yard House and in bottles and Bev Mo. But haven't been able to get any lately. I am searching!

I was in Scotland last month with 15 other people. We drank Scotland dry of Tennants! Has anyone found where we can get it in the states? I'm in Phoenix for anyone who knows. It's driving us crazy not being able to find any here.
If anyone thinks this mass produced rubbish lager is the best lager in the world, they haven't lived. Bud Budavar, Becks, Imported Stella and oh about 100 different trappas beers, made in parts of europe are superior in every way. Try Pilsner Urquel or Staropramen. The problem across the whole of the UK is that we have to put up with cr@p, mass produced lager and pay a premuim for it. It does contain chemicals, and the beer companies don't have to say what goes into it. Madness. If it tastes like sh1t it must be sh1t. Come On!
