Used to be a reasonable tasting pint, although only 3.4% so you'd have to drink the pub dry to get pissed. Absolutely ruined by the corporate tossers at Crapsberg Tetley, who shut the brewery down and moved production first to Thwaites in Blackburn, then to Tetley in Leeds. No longer produced, but I believe the rights to the name are owned by a local guy who used to be a brewer, so hopefully will start up again.
Only had it a few times (while hiking around Mid Wales) and considering the standard of other UK lagers (i.e. disgusting) this isn't THAT bad. What grabs me is the marketing; couldn't they have thought of a better name, something with a bit more flair? same company snapped up the rights to "Peckham Spring" alledgedly...
