Bass is really goood and yeah it's an Pale Ale. I can't stand the taste of budwieser and this hits the spot. Nice, darker and good for you.
It isn't a lager, but a bitter. One of the better widely- available ones.
Since when has Bass been a lager? I know I now live abroad but when I was a pub manager Bass was a cask-conditioned ale and . back in those days possibly the best mass-produced one in the whole of England (NB: not necessarily Scotland or Wales...)
Somewhere inbetween a larger and an ale (not sure which) Goes down nicely but you can't get it everywhere! Quite common in Northern Ireland
