Budweiser is not American Beer. Not my America anyway.
If your America is a land of generic mass produced crap then I guess you are right. Just like Kraft "American cheese", Bud is the result of lowering standards and creating a product that appeases the ignorant masses while rapping it in a pretty package. Luckily, quality American beer has made a huge comeback thanks to microbreweries and homebrewers alike not to mention an influx of "snobby" imports that have awakened the palate of post prohibition America.
Budweiser is a big piece of America alright. The asshole of America.
