I've had beers from the world over and Polar is barely OK. I am an ex-pat American who lives in Panama. I tried it because my roommate was from Venezuela and raved about it. It's OK for a cheap beer. But I will drink Cerveza Panama before it, and it costs the same here (about 50 cents US per can). So why get an inferior product when you can have better? You guys who are ranking beers have never tried Paulaner Hefe Weizen! If you have tried it and don't agree it is the best beer in the world, you have some really screwed up taste buds! NOTHING

I found Polar beer in grocery stores, beer stores & convenience stores in Miami. It seems to only be available in Miami-Dade county, once we were in Broward Co. it was no longer in the Publix supermarkets.
It is one of the lekkerst beer in the world!
Most American beers that I tried ( many others .. lost count ) are tasting less better...

The reason for the varied reviews is because polar is not just a beer but an experience. For the people that love it. The reason is what they were doing and where they were while drinking it. The great times make it seem all the better.
I love polar I spent some years in Venezuela drinking it long before the political winds changed.
I have found it in the US at La Tienda Latina and a Venezuelan restaurant in Jacksonville FL. I also found it in various Florida ABC stores around orlando but not any more..

I cannot believe, that anyone can say Polar Lite and Polar Ice, can be described as the best beer in the world!
This is absolute rubbish..
The beer in VNZ is probably the worst in the area if not the world..
I know this as i am an Aircraft Eng. abd have lived and worked in such far flung places , as Congo , Indonesia, India, Trinidad , Mexico, Algeria , Egypt, Jordan Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong.etc.. in all these places the beer is better!!1111

Solera blue is the best of the bunch for a day at the playa. My wife is from Valencia so we travel there frequently and always pay a little extra Bolivar for the solera.
i got mad love for polar because it was the beer of choice when i went to venezuela for a semester in high school as an exchange student. but now that im a seasoned beer drinker(prefer IPA and porter), i think polar is kind of gross. last year i went to aruba with my parents and they had polaritos- the 8oz "princess" size beer as coined by coors in the usa. my dad liked it but i told him to drink it while its cold and he quickly agreed as his slowly warmed in the tropical sun. yeah...its best served ice cold in small servings for a reason. anyways, polar is good, el oso es super chevre, their marketing is incredible, but solera in the green bottles is worth the extra 30 cents it costs per bottle.
I recently returned from two weeks in Venezuela. I was primarily staying in Maracaibo. Well I have drank many types of beer and prefer european imports though I will say that Polar is probably the best beach beer alive. We went to a beach and literally drank that beer all day long.Along with having some good food on tap and the consistent cold one after cold one , polar went down very nice. I wish I could find somewhere here in the states to get it.

POLAR BEER IS ONLY SOLD IN DADE COUNTY FLORIDA. I TALKED WITH THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS THE RIGHTS FOR SALE IN THE USA. IF YOU WANT IT THEN FIND SOMEONE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AROUND MAIMI. THE LOCAL PUBLIX HAS IT!
Visited a latin grocery in Cleveland with a friend from Venezuela who recommended Polar. We bought their only six-pack, got it nice and cold and thoroughly enjoyed it! Full-bodied, refreshing, delicious. I wish it was more widely available.
I am working at the Polar plant in Valencia Venezuela commisioning equipment. This the best plant start up I have had. Great Beer, Free Samples, and a number of the plant supervisors and engineers are the most gorgeous women on this planet and very professional as well.
I agree with previous comments regarding the beer, I am drinking a bottle Solera Premium, ice cold at the moment.
i took 2weeks off and went to venezuela jan.1-15th. polar ice and polar lite is the best beer in the world. you can drink as much as you want and no hang over and its dirt cheap. you get 36 for about 15 usd. does anyone know how i can get it here? a website or something......LD026@comcast.net the 0 is a zero
I like polar ice, polar, and other Ven. beers but does any one know the carbohydrates for each. i go atkins occasionally, and would like to drink the one with the least carbs. Email me at thierman@pacbell.net with the carb counts.
I love Polar Beer. People who think its plain cheap beer have no taste for beer. I really want to find a way to have it shipped to TEXAS, where I live. If anybody knows a way to do this please e-mail me at kikofrn@yahoo.com

The beer was good, but not sure if my memory of it is tainted by the fact that I was consuming POLAR while sitting on a beach in Los Roques watching pelicans dive for fish...life was good!
I traveled around the world and never in my life I tasted a beer like Venezuela Polar Beer, The Solera is the best, I love it, The Belgium beer and the German beer are nothing as it
Just got bak from a month school trip in Venezuela. Had polar on the top of Mount Roraima, beneath Angel Falls and at Puerto Columbia and it could not fit the requirements of a tourist more- ice cold and refreshing. Ok, so it isnt exactly becks or fosters on the quality scale but it did the job exceedingly well after many hard treks!!!
This is one of the best beer I have ever had, but there is another one REGIONAL beer, that is the best from Venezuela also.

Just got back from Aruba and am now ADDICTED to POLAR! Its a perfect beer for me, clean, crisp and has just the right amount of flavor. It's for sure a great beach beer, does anyone know where you can get it in LA!?
No, I never had a PLOAR beer, but I've heard alot of good things about it. Was this the same beer company that Patrice Lamumba worked for before he became a revolutionary?
spent two weeks drinking polar on margarita island, it is a wonderful lager. Go to senor frogs get your drinks passes and then tell me you aint had the best night of your life.

i have been living on aruba for 9 years now and i will put it simple:
polar is the best beer in the world although heavily challenged by brand beer from the netherlands.

Polar beer is excellent! My husband introduced the beer to me when I met him on vacation in Aruba. We live in Michigan and cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know where we can get Polar in Michigan?
There is a bar in Palm Bay called TAPPS, you can find it there as well as over 160 other national and international beers
I wished they sold Polar Beer in Canada. I can't find it in the LCBO and they won't ordered for me unless I order alot of cases.

I'm amazed by the reviews on this page. Not to knock anyone, but Polar (in all of it's forms) is one of the worst beers I've ever had. LIke all of the beers here in Venezuela, it's watery without much flavor. It's drinkable on the beach if it's served ICE cold, however, normally, I'd rank it right above Pig's Eye or Grainbelt, two staples of the $5 all-you-can-drink frat-party.
My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon to Venezuela, and from the first sip I took, I was addicted!!!! My favorite was Solera Light...I couldn't get enough! Polar is definitely a beer you won't want to miss!
Polar Ice is like heaven in a bottle and by god it changed my life forever. If only I had a cold Polar Ice right now, my life would be perfect no matter what else I had going on
I am a Hongkong guy and it was 13 years ago when I first drank Polar in Aruba in 1993. I still miss Polar VERY VERY much. No beers in Asia can compare with Polar. Can somebody send me some bottles of Polar to Hongkong and my email is frederick.fong@gmail.com and I can reimburse the costs.
Just come back from a holiday in Venezuela. Nothing beats an ice cold Polar at the beach. 10/10

I wouldn't give Polar a 10. Its a fine beer, a solid 8 (better than Aguila). In comparison to the other pilsners in the region (brahma from Brazil or Quillmes from Argentina), Polar has a nice rich flavor, but it has strange after taste. but if drink it very cold with a nice meal (meats and rice) its perfect.
i don't know if i would crown it the best beer in all of Latin America, but it is an essential beer that must be experienced.
I live between 2 beer country's, germany and belgium also the Netherlands has a lot of beer brewers, but I have to say It's a good beer, I have tasted a lot of brands, but there is just one disadvance, the bottles are way to small.
but I can get them just arount the corner.
