DAILY BUDGET in BANGKOK - It should be possible to exist in Thailand on a daily budget of 17USD, but in Bangkok this could rise to anything from 38 USD to around 62USD if staying in comfortable hotels and eating in restaurants. |
Songkran in Thailand - In April Thailand celebrates the New Year with an incredible water throwing festival. The parades, colourful costumes, and carnival atmosphere are not to be missed.
Lumphini Park - Trees, lakes and gardens give green peace in the midst of the business, shopping and residential areas of Bangkok.
Chatuchak Weekend Market - Buy all kinds of exotic wares at this weekend market, but stay away from those selling endangered animals and species.
Floating Market - hop on a boat and buy anything from exotic wares to food and produce from other boats,"floating marketplaces",along the Chao Praya riverbanks and tributaries. Get there early.

May Kaidee - At 123-125 Th Tanao, for hungry vegetarians this is the best and cheapest food in town.
Night markets - Located in front of 7/11 at the Th Tani/Soi Ram Bhuttri intersection, you will find very cheap hot-food stalls also selling fresh fruit juices and beer, great for after party munchies.
Prakorb House - At Th Khao San, healthy and wholesome food is sold here at backpacker prices.
China Town (Yow-Warat) - You can find many traditional chinese food at all renge of price, start at lower than 1 USD.
Oh My Cod ! British Cafe - Excellent Breakfasts, Fish & Chips, Pies, Baked Potatoes and Thai Food. The best breakfast i had in 2 years of travelling!! Soi Rambuttri, 1 minute from Khao San Road.

Susie Pub - Found next to Marco Polo Guest House off Th Khao San, this awesomely popular pub has a pool table, cool tunes, and DJ's… totally fab!
Hole in the Wall Bar - At Th Khao San, in the middle of the backpackers' hangout is a haven for the hard-up traveller, with dim lighting, CD's from home, and beer at a price sympathetic to clients.
Gullivers' Travellers Tavern - also at Th Khao San, this air-conditioned sports pub has sixteen TV screens, pool tables and beer at a price backpacker's can afford.
Reggae Bar - This bar is just behind koh sahn rd. th atmosphere is friendly and the prices are cheaper than on koh sahn rd, also this helps if you want to get away from the israelites... so many!
Soi 1 Guesthouse - 24 hr Air-conditioned Bar, Gameroom, Satellite TV's, Ice cold beer, spirits. cozy place on Sukhumvit Soi 1, next to Bumrungrad Hospital, on the 2nd floor. They also have 24 hrHi-speed Internet and FREE WI-FI. Good food.
