| Brasilia Travel Guide for backpackers |

| Magnificent sunsets send a golden glow over the twin concrete towers of the National Congress building. Pleasant parks, popular for weekend picnics, encircle the entire city; and in the downtown zone, by the central bus station. The lively atmosphere revolves around a busy mess of people and trade. |

DAILY BUDGET in BRASILIA - If you're travelling on buses every couple of days, staying in hotels for $10 a night, and eating in restaurants or drinking in bars every night, $40 is a rough estimate of what you would need. If you plan to lie on a beach for a month, eating frugally, $25 would be enough. Prices for accommodation increase 25-30% from December to February. |
