| Cleveland Travel Guide for backpackers |

| Having undergone a serious restoration process Cleveland’s Lake Erie/Cuyahoga River waterfront is now sparkling and refreshed, and the downtown area has excellent museums, shopping malls, and swish hotels.
Other points of interest are the little Oberlin College, the tiny hamlet of Peninsula, and the picturesque lakeshore district of Vermillion. |

DAILY BUDGET in CLEVELAND - With careful budgeting backpackers can camp or stay in cheap hostels and cook their own meals for US$50.00 a day. Adding another US$50.00 though will give the backpacker a more righteous break with motels or B&B’s and decent food, as well as seeing some of the paying attractions. |
Lake Erie Nature and Science Centre - This is a cool place to hangout and relax in while waiting for the excesses of the previous night to wear off.
Cleveland Museum of Art - Apart from the collections of art over the millennia and collections of the finest works by famous artists, the museums also puts on concerts in the Gartner Auditorium and in the large enclosed garden.
Riverfront - History and entertainment come together on one of the busiest waterways in America west of the Gund. Here bars, clubs and restaurants line the boardwalk, while old buildings and warehouses in all their ancient grime recall Cleveland’s manufacturing history.
|

Big Al’s Diner - At 12600 Larchmere Blvd., backpackers can tuck into huge servings of pancakes, omelettes, or a day long breakfast, and not be financially ruined.
Aladdin's Eatery - Found in various spots around the city Aladdin’s Eatery provides vegetarian food with prices that are well within in the backpackers reach.
Steve's Lunch - At 5004 Lorain Ave., never closing its doors has made Steve’s a Cleveland institution and serves good basic grub at prices that even a backpacker could afford.
|

The George & Dragon - Located at 70 High Street, Cleveland Heights, this is a highly rated pub with loyal patrons who have been coming to it for ten years or so.
