Hiroshima Travel Guide for backpackers

One of the greatest tragedies in our world was the atomic bomb that fell on Hiroshima in August 1945. Anyone who is a concerned person will go to visit the Peace Memorial Park. Hiroshima is a city of many rivers and larney boulevards. It is also the gateway for cruises to Miyajima, an island of cool beauty. Hiroshima is an up and coming city with more than a million citizens and car and ship manufacturing is big business here.

DAILY BUDGET in HIROSHIMA - USD80 will do at a scrape but then you can’t booze!

Shukkei-en Garden – 2-11 kaminopori-cho – The dude who laid out these miniature landscape gardens was a master of the tea ceremony. Spend some quiet time away from the traffic and noise and all and just cool it here.

Hiroshima Castle – 21-1 Moto-machi – Built in 1590, destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in 1958 this wooden castle is a faithful reproduction of the original. Very styling museum of the history of Hiroshima

Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art – Pop artists missions and Japanese post war art with dossiers on the artists and a library of cartoons, cool!
Add your favourite free attraction!

Andersen Kitchen – 7-1 Hondori – The cafeteria on the 2nd floor offers pizzas, sandwiches, stews and salads. Pick up a tray and help yourself.

Kushinobo – 7-4 Horikawa-cho – Crowded, noisy and friendly. Skewers of veg, fish or meat are made while you check it out. Popular with the locals.

Masui – 14-13 Hatchobori – near the Silk Plaza Hotel – Bargain eats. Plate after plate of teishoku is the lunchtime special in this deeply crowded, sizzling place.
Add your favourite cheap eat!

Hotel Silk Plaza – 14 Hatchobori – You could try for some booze at the tavern – Hiroshima is not on the hip-hop scene.

Rihga Royal Hiroshima – There are two bars in this 33 story building but it’s a larney place and the booze costs heavy.

Hotel Sunroute – 3-3-1 Ohtemachi – Next to the river just around the corner from the Peace Park you will find a bar in this hotel – if you’ve bucks to spare!
Add your favourite bar or club!
