| Lake Tahoe Travel Guide for backpackers |

This awesome place is the playground of America with every kind of water sport imaginable and crisp clean air to enjoy them in. Surrounded by the magnificent Sierra Nevada's the lake is a picture perfect sight and has water so clear that it is possible to see more that seventy feet into its depths.
On the southern shore of this exquisite natural wonder of colours and scenery is man's contribution to its ‘attractions' and here lie the high-rise casinos, motels and mini-malls which are very ‘yuck' if you are a nature lover, but ‘fly to the extreme' if you a city slicker who just can't give up your god-given right to lose your money in what ever way you wish. |

DAILY BUDGET in LAKE TAHOE - At Lake Tahoe you can pretend you really love camping and doing your own cooking without anyone doubting you, and in this way save face, and a humongous amount of money, thereby enabling you to come out on $50 a day. If, however, things that go bump or GRRR in the night really get you screaming for mom, then bank on spending about $100 a day for a room at a motel and a few meals at a restaurant. |
Windsurfing - Try windsurfing for a few extra thrills and getting a bird's eye view of the incredible scenery around Lake Tahoe.
Exploring - There is so much to be seen in this magnificent place that you could spend your entire holiday just roaming around communing with nature and doing whatever else lights your fire.
Beaches - Sandy beaches and picnic areas abound all round the lake but never forget that the water in this lake is icy cold before you go take a flying leap into it, you just might emerge a lesser man than before.
