Majorca Travel Guide for backpackers

Mallorca has just about anything the weary traveller could ask fo, a wonderful climate, culture and entertainment as well as sunny beaches. If you do decide to venture off the beach you could explore the landscape by bicycle or wonder around Palma, the capital and only real city in Mallorca. Palma is lively and the place where you will find the best nightlife and cheapest meals on the Island.

DAILY BUDGET in MAJORCA - Spain in general is quite reasonable. US $49 a day will buy you a decent nights sleep, entry to museums, fill your tummy and let you move around the island a bit. Expect to pay US $19.50-49 for budget lodging and budget meals, such as tapas, can cost as little as US $3.

Beaches - Sand, Sun and Sea. Pick any one of the beautiful beaches, pack a picninc lunch and enjoy a peaceful day surrounded by the splendour of nature.

San Telmo - The most visited port on the island, major attractions include the 16th century fortress and the nearby ruins of the SA Tropa Monastery.

Churches and Museums - All over the island you will find lovely churches, like the Romanesque-Gothic Iglesia Parroquil in picturesque Calvia. Museum enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice with museums dedicated to a range of topics.
