| Manchester Travel Guide for backpackers |

| Home of Manchester United… for football fans little else need be said of this city, but for those who don't find the sport as mind blowing as others do, there are still a lot of other attractions to check out. For those of a different brain function it is worth noting that Manchester has a brilliant cultural and music scene, the emerging pink power of the gay community is seen in its own Gay Village, and England's largest student population injects the city with energy and effervescence. |

DAILY BUDGET in MANCHESTER - As England is a very expensive place to tour you will need a minimum of USD58 just to survive, with meals coming at approximately USD14, and lodging averaging at about USD37 a day if staying in dorms. If you are a little better heeled and prefer B&B's, enjoy at least one good meal a day, and intend enjoying the better attractions then prepare to spend at least USD130 daily. |
