Phuket Travel Guide for backpackers

Of all Thailand’s islands, Phuket is the largest and one of the most beautiful, and although it has a modern and up to the minute infrastructure and all the conveniences of today’s world it has not lost touch with its ancient heritage. In this tropical paradise with wide sun-bleached beaches and warm waters where one can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving, and enjoy perfect wind-surfing, there are also magnificent temples that date back to ages long past.

DAILY BUDGET in PHUKET - For only US$16 – 20 a day a backpacker can have a pretty good time in Thailand, and US$31 a day, he/she will be able to enjoy a comfortable hotel bed, and some of the great Thai cuisine in top class restaurants.

Had Nai Yang National Park – It is here that the giant leatherback turtles come to lay their precious eggs every year between November and February.

The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project – This vital project, to rehabilitate the monkeys that entertain tourists with their antics, but are seriously abused by being fed alcohol and ‘uppers’ to keep them amusing and lively, offers free admission, but is desperately in need of funding so donations are very welcome.

Snorkelling – Check out the magnificent coral and diverse marine life in the shallow water along Phuket's coast.

Freedom Beach - See one of the most beautiful beach in Phuket only 15 min by a longtail boat from Patong: http://www.friafotografer.net/bilder/resebilder/Thailand/Freedom/index.htm

Plaza Del Mar - Laguna Entrance - It is stunning building in Sino-Portuguese style for all your personal & property related needs in Phuket. Please visit our website at www.phuketdir.com/plazadelmar
