Sicily Travel Guide for backpackers

The enchanted island, where the sea meets the mountains and the azure blue sky is it's crowning glory. The island where St Paul preached, where Greeks and Arabs and Asians left their mark and gave this island such a rich history. The island in the sun with golden orchards of lemons and oranges, ancient olive groves and vineyards, where spring greets you in a burst of colour and begs you to hang about and savour the wonders of nature that is Sicily. Mt Etna is another attraction which beckons you to come and experience. Greek temples, Arab castles and Roman amphitheatres. The Phoenicians and Carthaginians also left their mark here on this island steeped in a long history, filled with folklore and great food.
