Warsaw Travel Guide for backpackers

Even though many refer to it as the ugly city, however after saying that, there is a lot of modernisation going on in Warsaw. New pubs, clubs, and restaurants are being opened almost daily and the friendliness of the people is truly inspiring, considering what they have had to overcome in the past hundred years or so. If you do decide to make Warsaw one of your stop offs then be sure to check out the Wisla River, which runs across the Mazovian plains and the Moscow-Berlin road that runs through the whole city. Warsaw is rapidly becoming a hot spot for tourists.

DAILY BUDGET in WARSAW - This is one of the cheaper places to visit, and if you know how to pitch a tent and cook then it is even better, all you will need per day here is US$40, a place to sleep in will cost anything between US$9-22 and your munchies about US$4-10. So, pack your bags and prepare for take off.

Markets - Be sure to stop at one of the many Markets to experience how the other half perceive life, one can get anything from handbags to car parts to fruit and veggies and of course not forgetting the wide selection of smoked cheeses.

Stare Miasto - this is one of the liveliest places in Warsaw, busy cafes, overcrowded restaurants, and people coming and going all day long. Once you have stopped here, you will be able to judge just how far Warsaw has come.

Muzeum Narodowe - The museum houses a fantastic collection of ancient art, paintings and sculptures, what makes this a unique experience is the mind-blowing collection of medieval altarpieces.
