Great place that feels like home .Free internet and breakfast,also the chill out areas the hammock garden and moorish arab chill area at the tail end of the garden is pure genius in its concept .The owners Anthonio and Sonia plus host Kaine are fantastic. Add to that wine tasting and spanish food courses; this is pure value . Simply the best hostel in Granada and Spain.

We are nestled in the heart of the enchanting city of Granada in the UNESCO declared quarter of El Albayzin, an old unique Moorish neighbourhood. Set in a recently restored traditional Andalucian 'Carmen' house, Makuto is fully equipped with modern conveniences such as DVD in-house movies and cable TV, fully equipped kitchen and internet access. There is also a big garden area with chill out, hammocks and an outside eating zone. It’s a three minute walk from Plaza Nueva, Calle Elvira where most of the Granada tapas bars and nightclubs can be found as well as Calle Caldereria (a location full of Moorish tea shops and handicrafts). Flamenco evenings can be discovered in the Sacromonte caves, a district 10 minutes across Albayzin where backpackers get the full Granada experience. Makuto was created by a couple of backpackers who spent last year travelling around the world to bring to Granada the best atmosphere, to make you feel even better than you do at home.
