ok it isn't very clean, but it isn't dirty neither. The staff is very cool, you don't have to do anything to go there from the railway station, they carry out about the taxis. The common room is great to meet people.

This hostel is vile. Its filthy. The toilets dont work and one was over flowing. Its unsafe in terms of valuables, Its noisy and full of smokers. THERE IS ALWAYS REALLY BAD AND VERY LOUD MUSIC IN THE COMMON ROOM WHICH THE STAFF INSIST ON KEEPING ON. DONT STAY THERE.

Terrible. Enough Said....but seriously, this place is awful. The price wasnt cheap at all considerring its the "cheapest hostel in bratislava." The place reminded me of an abandoned mental institution, very creapy. Everything was old and nasty, dirty place, rundown. Im sure the beds are full of flea's and the only reason me and my g/f even stayed was because every other hostel in the city was full. Deff dont go to this hostel. No toilet paper. Check-out at 9am, what is that!! Can't sleep in after a night of partying...but I guess even if you wanted to sleep in you couldnt since the curtain-less windows allow sun to shine brightly thru as soon as the sun rises. DONT STAY HERE!

Orange HOSTILE is really one of the worst places in all of Europe. No joke, my five friends and I stayed one night, and it felt like an ETERNITY in hell. The rooms are ANCIENT, dirty, and not worth even the cheap price. God bless the students who onced lived there for school (as it is a converted dormitory)! The bathrooms were even worse. BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER AND SOAP because they do not provide them. Also they do not provide "free internet" and "good security" AS ADVERTISED. Fortunately, nothing was stolen from our rooms, no one was assaulted, and none of our rooms were broken into; yet the fear is enough to keep us away FOREVER. Don't let this horrible HOSTILE hostel ruin a perfectly wonderful saty in Bratislava, one of Eastern Europe's greatest cities...

This is the WORST hostel I have ever been to. We had to wait FOUR hours to actually get into our 'room', which turned out to be a cockroach infested hell-pit of death. The people in the room next door were woken up by cockroaches crawling over their legs in their beds, and none of the staff seemed to care that they were providing this appalling serviceand charging you an arm and a leg to stay there. Literally, since I will probably have to have my limbs amputated from contracting some god-awful infetious disease whilst staying in that cesspit. My advice to anyone thinking of staying here, no matter how desperate you are (and trust me, we were desperate) is to STAY AWAY. You can sleep on the park benches round the corner (if you manage to get rid of the drunken tramps that is). I guarantee they will be comfier and a whole lot cleaner! These people should be closed down to open the market for genuine service providers.

Hey, you with all the fanny fart complaining... You're all a bunch of suckers. There's actually a way of by-passing the whole orange hostel for "backpacker twats", and getting a decent room for less than a Euro. Unfortunately, I'd like to go there again so I won't be telling you how. Mr. Needs. Xx

This hostle is disgusting. We booked a double room and were given old iron prison bunk beds. Not really what a young couple wants. We were then shown another room (too smelly to stay in though). Before we checked in another Irish person was complaining about the state of his room, no curtains etc for some privacy for him and his girlfriend. Then we complained. Then the people behind us complained. I presume there were many other complaints that day.
We managed to stay in some other horrible university dorms, which although horrible were at least cleaner and half the price. One wonders at how long the Orange Hostel can stay open.

A disgraceful excuse for a hostel. Disgustingly dirty, graffiti-covered, shabby building, and expensive too, to add insult to injury. I would like to know however why all the reviews of this establishment on a well known hostel-booking site are so positive...do they choose (or allow the hostels to choose) only the best reviews, and why do they allow this hostel to post a totally false description of itself on their site??? can someone fill me in because i'm very annoyed, after myself and my boyfriend cancelled a reservation at an infinitely more acceptable hostel in Bratislva because the description of the Orange hostel was so good and also because the booking site said it had available "double beds", which turned out to be shabby metal prison-style bunk beds in a disgusting room. So we ended up paying the booking site fee twice and staying in neither. Have sent 2 emails to booking site and have not been answered yet. Can someone explain how they get away with this, and is there any way i can vent my frustrations in a constructive way?

If you are looking for communist realism, this is a place for you. Huge old school dormitory turned as a hostel. Everything is wrong in this "hostel". Rooms, walls, corridoors are dirty and windows does not work. The is no curtains and beds are made of old sofa.

If you´re looking only for a place to sleep while your Bratislava tournee, this hostel has an excellent location in the beautiful old town. Hostel is an old school, which halls are like echo chambers. I was lucky to get a single room, so don't know about shared rooms. Suits for people who don't spend their holiday in a hostel, just for overnights. Anyway I don't recommend to leave any valuable items to ANY hostel your staying. Staff was nice and helpful. Shared facilities (toilets, showers) were russia-quality, but what else do we need? Old building, needs lots of reconstruction before accessing "cosy"-level. What a beautiful city!

I was welcomed at the train station by three smiling, well-built blokes in matching Orange Hostel shirts. They gave me a nicely designed brochure and carried my bags to a sparkling, air-conditioned van. ``there's free transportation,`` one said, smiling ingenuously, ``and free internet too!`` The driver must have gotten lost though, because I wound up at a veritable flophouse instead. I am currently dying of the Bubonic Plague, which I caught by pushing the elevator button, as well as Ebola from the electric lights, and there's no air conditioning either.

I stay for two nights there. And it costs me 2 Digital Cameras and one mobile phone. Someone stole this things from my room, and so two nights costed me more than 1000 euros.. No security, no cleaned rooms, public toilet is probably cleaned then the Hostels one.... Don't go there!

Hey! This hostel really is bad. Everything is just old and ugly, the place is extremely dirty, especially the toilets and showers haven't been cleaned up for ages. The rooms are filthy and noisy and the beds seem on the brink of collapsing. The owners are right about the location, it really is close by the city center, but that is the only thing the hostel has to offer. Me and my friends regret we went there, especially as we had to pay 18 (!) euros per person per night.

Orange hostel is anything but clean. Upon our check in three peole refused to say there and within a matter minutes numerous people were down to complain about the over flowing toilets! Unfortunately everywhere else in Bratislava was full, but this is one hostel you can definately do without visting, the mattresses are three sofa cushions, the place is covered in grafitti, the beds are really unstable, I was suprised to wake in the morning to discover that the bunk bed had not given in! Bad doesn't even describe the place.
