Funny-Farm Hostel, Interlaken - Reviews & Contact Details

When I stayed here in 06 there was vomit in my room. When I informed the front desk they told me the cleaning staff had gone home for the day but they could get me a bucket and some rags so that I might clean it up myself.

We had the best time at the Funny Farm. I backpacked through Europe 7 years ago, and this was by far the best place we stayed it. It was so laid back and everyone was friendly. The made us chug a beer when we were checking in. The staff is great! I wouldn't stay here with young kids though. This is a place for the free spirted!

Sure it may not be the cleanist hostel I've stayed in, but what it lacks in cleanliness it certainly makes up for in atmosphere and spirit. And yes it is like an old barn.
My stay here ranks as one of the best experiences at a hostel, with friendly staff and a highly spirited atmosphere - this was a place I remember with fondness.
Having drinks by the pool, chatting to relaxed friendly travels and enjoying the strange pleasue of a disco shower, my stay here completely embodied the holiday spirit I was seeking.
I'd say definitely go there for a good time, perhaps not a long time.

Soooo good! the staff is certianly friendly and extremely helpful...plus it may be older, but it is soo clean and upkept...dont listen to that guy!

I had an awesome time at the funny farm.

Not as advertised: The pictures are of a part of a hotel which is NOT used by the hostel. The actual hostel is a shabby barn out the back. The hostel does use one wing of the hotel but this is filthy and run down. The hostel is definitly not for families even though they advertise that they are "family friendly". The only good point is that the staff are helpful and friendly. I suppose they have to be as there is really nothing else to reccommend this vermin infested hole.
