Astor's Victoria Hotel, London - Reviews & Contact Details

Let me start off by saying this is not the hostel of choice for me in london, there is much better around! However what this place has going for it is it's proximity to victoria coach station, very ideal for all of those needing to get to/from stanstead airport early/late for those cheap ryanair flights. Another good point is that it's within easy walking distance Buckingham palace. Also the beds are reasonable. Other than that the rooms are terribly stuffy (you will die in the summer time) and the 'common room' is really flawed...not a good place to meet travellers, the staff could also learn to loosen up abit. Go there if ya need to get to victoria coach station really early or late or if you've just arrived from some long overseas flight and need to get over jetlag for a couple of days. It's all about snooze rather than booze at this little hostel.

The Vic is within walking distance of many famous sights of London, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Tate Gallery, Westminster Abbey & Cathedral, the River Thames, Trafalgar Square and the fantastic London Eye (Millennium wheel). This modern hostel offers clean and friendly dormitory rooms which range in size from 4 to 8 beds. It has brand new toilets and showers which are all located outside the rooms and are kept clean at all times. There are young, enthusiastic and vibrant staff who are always more than willing to find the best time for you in London, night or day. Add to that the excellent location (12 minutes walk to Buckingham Palace) this is a great place to base yourself, and make friends in London. - Clean bed linen (Your bed is already made!) - Hot showers (All the time) - A safe for valuables lock-up - Cooking facilities, crockery, and cutlery - Cable/satellite TV - DVD player - Pay telephone, and a great time!
