I stayed in the quest hostel on this trip, because i had stayed there before a few years ago and had thought the rooms were pretty nice (nicer than some) for the price, and the atmosphere was friendly. This time was different. The large texan working the reception insisted that the group of people talking quietly outside on the front steps go inside at about 11:30 at night. We moved to the kitchen, where about 15 min. later he insisted we were being to loud and had to leave, suggesting we go to the other astor hostel a few blocks away saying his is not that kind of hostel . so i recommend staying here if youre looking not to meet new people, and go to bed before 11 each night. if you are looking to have a drink, relax and make new friends.... look elsewhere. also, he gave me wrong directions to the train station, almost causing me to miss my flight home. thanks. needless to say, i won't ever stay in this place again. also, if you do stay insist on a room with the bathroom insuite. (you don't want to find out about the shower stalls in the hallway).

Great for all backpackers, close to Notting Hill Gate, the Quest is perfect for the independent traveller and small student groups. The hostel offers a friendly intimate atmosphere, great murals, and brand new beds with security lockers underneath them. It's also close to heaps of great attractions like Hyde Park, Kensington Palace (Princess Diana's residence), Portobello Market and Whiteley's Shopping centre. The Bayswater area is also full of friendly pubs, cafés and restaurants that keep you busy during the evening. The dormitory rooms range in size from four to eight beds per room. Most of the rooms have en-suite shower and toilet facilities. There are toilets and showers on each floor for the few rooms without facilities. The Quest is a great hostel for making friends and to enjoy all the sights London has to offer. All staff live on the premises and are young travellers like yourself! - Free valuables lock-up - Many rooms with ensuite facilities - Cooking facilities in fully equipped kitchen - Cable/Satellite TV - No curfew - DVD and Video player as well satellite - Great chill out lounge for socialising/movies/music We look forward to welcome you at the Quest Hotel!
